The Soneplex platform supports DS1 network interfaces on either copper or fiber using HDSL, HDSL2, HDSL4, traditional T1 repeater or optical DS2 technology in a single platform. Integrated network management lets carriers save on overall operations costs through the entire system lifecycle. The QLX Four-Position Remote Chassis is installed at the customer premises for termination of up to eight protected or unprotected DS1 circuits via two or four optical DS2 circuits. The unit houses up to four QLX modules, an optional line termination unit, alarm processor unit and craft performance monitoring module. Two QLX modules are deployed for unprotected applications; four QLX modules are used for 1+1 protection. The Four-Position Remote Chassis is modular and includes two fiber storage areas, eight DS1 terminations with choice of RJ48 or wire-wrap connectors and terminations for power and alarms. The chassis is designed to be wall-mounted, however, an optional rack mount bracket is available. The LTU provides loopback testing, system maintenance and intrusive DS1 testing. A non-intrusive monitor jack is also accessible for monitoring and remote DS1 configuration.
