Facility Relief PG-Flex Plus can provide incremental network capacity. PG-Flex RTs can be placed at existing copper fed cross connect cabinets to provide 24/48 lines to the F1 side of the box. This incremental addition of capacity will enable many sites to support added lines for several years. “Help To The House” PG-Flex Plus RTs are deployed on the side of a home or small business. The existing copper pair that provided a voice circuit will now provide up to 6 POTS lines, ISDN or DDS. This additional network capacity will provide pair relief back to the central office. “Plumb The Network” As ADSL services are introduced into the network, PG-Flex Plus can assist with several issues. Additional lines strain the capacity of an existing copper network, and PG-Flex Plus can free up pairs that can be reused for ADSL service. 56K Modem Support Since PG-Flex Plus offers both a TR-008 or GR-303 digital interface to the switch, high-speed modem support is possible as a result of the elimination of one analog-to-digital conversion. Integrated Mode PG-Flex Plus central office equipment is designed with a digital (DS1) switch interface. This interface can be provisioned as TR-08/D4 for incumbent networks or GR-303 for developing networks. Deployment Flexibility Since PG-Flex Plus central office equipment is environmentally hardened, it can also be deployed out in the network subtending DS1 tributaries from high-speed muxes or fiber-based terminals. As a result, pair gain can be achieved further into the network. Integrated PG-Flex Plus Line Units are also being developed that can be retrofitted into standard T1 repeater housing mechanics. Relief To The F1 Network Facility Relief provided to Cross Connect by creating 24 new F1 cable pairs from two. Typical installations will include 24 to 48 additional new lines.This additional capacity may provide two or more years of network capacity.
