Năm học 2009 – 2010 Giáo n Tiếng Anh 6 UNIT : 3 AT HOME Period : 12 LESSON: A MY HOUSE (1,2) Date of preparation : September 24 th , 2009 Date of teaching : October 8 th , 2009 Classes : 6A3 , 6A4 , 6A5 I. Aims and objectives : * Language content :To introduce the students some new words relating to things around the house. - To teach them how to ask and answer about health and response. -To enable the sts to use the verb “to be “ in the simple present tense . * Language function:To help them speak about things and introduces things around them. * Educational aim: To teach them the way to keep things in the house . 1. Language : a.Vocabulary: couch – armchair – table – chair – lamp – bookself – telephone – these – those. b.Structures: What’s this / that? It’s table. What are these / those? They are chairs 2. Skills : Speaking – Listening - Reading - Writing 3. Educational factor : Knowing to love their houses and their familiers keeping their houses clean, tidy and beautiful. II. Teacher’s and students’ preparation : 1. Method: Communicative approach: 2. Techniques: Repetition, missing, askiing, answering. 3. Material needed: pictures, word cards, cassettes. 4. Students’ preparation: look up the new words 5. Previous exercises:1,2,3 on page 14,15,16. III. PROCEDURES IN CLASS : 1. Stabilization: 2 minutes a.Warm–up:greetings b.Checking absence:Asks the students to report who’s absent. 2. Checking up previous knowledges: Time needed:5 minutes * Questions:show some objects and asks what’s this / that? * Keys to questions:It’s a/an 3. Shows two different pictures to students. - Emphasizes the location to introduce “this” and “that” - Shows other pictures of things says the words. -Mention the /ts/ sound in “chair”, “armchair” and /s/ sound in bookself 2/Introduces some new words and structures: ( using the pictures or real object) + living room (n) + chair (n) + couch (n) + bookshelf (n) + armchair (n) + table (n) + stereo (n) + television (n) + lamp (n) + these / those + stool (n0 + they (pro) What’s this/that? What are these/those? - Checks understanding: “ Rub out and remember” III. While - Practice -Tells them the difference - Look at the picture and answer. - Look at the picture - Listen to the teacher’s introduction - Look at. - Pay attention to the sounds - Focus on the teacher’s explanation and write down. - Play the game.
