Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to tell the activities people used to do in the past Students read the dialogue and know the life of many years ago II. Language contents: 1. Language skills: Developing students’ skills such as listening, speaking, reading and writing. Focusing on listening and reading skills. 2. Language knowledge: a. Grammar: Used to + Vinf b. Vocabulary: - (to) look after, equipment, a folktale, traditional, Great grandma III. Method and teaching aids: - Communicative approach - Techniques: Rub Out and Remember, Comprehension questions, Facts/ Opinion - Teaching aids: Text book, posters, a picture, cassette player, color chalk IV. Time: 45 minutes V. Procedures: TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES TIME CONTENTS - Greeting - Checking attendance  Warm up: - Asks Ss to work in groups of four - Asks Ss to look at the picture on page 38 and write the names of things that do not belong to the past - Asks some groups to come to the board and write down the names - Gives feedback I. Presentation:  Pre-teach Vocabulary: -Elicits some words from Ss Using: Synonym (take care of) Example Example Explanation Translation - Checking Voc: “Rub Out and Remember” - Asks Ss to close their books and notebooks  Presentation: - Sets the scene: Nga’s grandma is telling Nga about her great grandma. What does she talk about? - Asks Ss to close their books and writes a question on the board. - Lets Ss listen to the tape once and asks them to give the answer - Writes the answer on the board - Gives feedback - Helps Ss form the structure - Explains new grammar - Asks Ss to write notes and gives an example - Asks Ss to open their books and lets them listen to the tape for - Greeting - Get into groups of four - Look at the picture and write names of things that do not belong to the past - Come to the board and write down - Listen and say the words they know - Repeat chorally and individually - Copy the words - Practice the words - Close their books and notebooks - Listen to the teacher - Close their books and read the question on the board - Listen to the tape once and tell teacher the answer - Look at the board - Follow the teacher -Listen to the teacher and take notes - Open their books and listen to the tape 5’ 12’  Getting Started: Names of things that do not belong to the past: - television - stereo - mobile phone - lighting fixture - modern clothes - school uniforms  New words: - (to) look after =(to) take care of:chăm sóc - equipment (unc): trang thiết bò - a folktale: chuyện dân gian - Great grandma: cụ bà - traditional (adj): truyền thống 1.
