GRADE 9 PERIOD UNIT 2: CLOTHING LESSON 1: GETTING STARTED + LISTEN & READ ----------o0o---------- *OBJECTIVES: By the en d of the lesson student will be able to know some vocabularies about clothing and get some information about Ao dai *TARGET ITEMS: -Vocabulary of clothing -Information about ao dai *TEACHING AIDS: -6 pictures of clothing_P13 -Textbook -T’s book *PROCEDURE: T Contents T’s & Ss’ activities T’s instruction 7’ I-WARMER: MATCHING PICTURES NAMES OF CLOTHING a b c d e f 1) a veil 2) a kimono 3) Ao dai 4) jeans 5) a kilt 6) a seri *KEYS: a-2, b-3, c-5, d-6, e-4, f-1 -Getting started + Listen and read *Set the scene the topic: -T divides class into 2 groups -T present the poster and pictures -Ss work in groups -T gives the correct answers and gives marks -T makes questions about the pictures to understand where they are from -Ss answer T’s questions -T introduces the topic by making questions -Ss listen and answer questions to enter the topic -To begin the new lesson I want you to play a game -Look at the poster and the pictures on the board -In 2 groups I want you to match the pictures with their correct names -Look at the pictures in your books again and tell me “Where is he/she from in each picture?” -Look at picture b again and tell me what is she wearing? Can you tell me some information about ao dai? → This lesson will help you to get more knowledge about ao dai. But first of all, I want you NGUYEÃN TROÏNG QUAÂN 1 GRADE 9 PERIOD to study some new words 8’ II-PRESENTATION: 1-Pre-teach: -a long silk tunic /n/: áo lụa dài rộng (translation) -slit /n/: đường xẻ (explanation) -symbol /n/: biểu tượng (explanation) -stripe /n/: vạch kẻ (visual) *Set the scene: the passage P_ -T ask ss close books and notebooks -T uses technique of teaching vocabulary to teach new vocab -Ss listen, repeat, and answer questions -T asks ss to listen and repeat and copy down after teaching all vocabularies -T asks ss open their books, listen to the tape and take note the pronunciation -Ss do the task -Close your books and notebooks.
