GIÁO ÁN TIẾNG ANH 8 ĐINH XUÂN LƯU UNIT 1: MY FRIENDS Lesson 1: Section: - GETTING STARTED - LISTEN AND READ 1. Objectives : After finishing the lesson students( Sts) will be able to know about Hoa - Lan and Nien, and to review the simple present - simple past tense. 2. Language contents :  Structures:-The simple present to talk about general truth -(not ) + Adj + enough + to_inf.  Vocabulary seem, next-door neighbor, enough, look like 3.Techniques: Presentation dialogue Asking and answering drill 4.Teaching aids: cassette-pictures of activities in class-text book. 5.Procedures Teacher & Sts’ activities Contents * Getting started (5’) - Ask Sts the activities that they like to play in their free time - Sts ask and answer the activities in the pictures. * Presentation: (2’) Show the picture of Hoa and Lan to introduce the dialogue by asking some questions about Hoa. * Pre-teach: (10’) - Sts listen to the tape once. - T pick out some key words and explain. * Practice: (15’) - Sts listen and repeat the dialogue. 1.Getting started I often play soccer. One or two pairs do it front of the class. + Silent reading : to prepare for answering the questions ( a-d) * Question: (9’) - Work in pair ( whole class) - Some pair do in front of class. - T correct the mistake. * Production: (3’) - Sts talk about person they like best ( their close friends or teacher ) Home work:(1’) -Write the topic given in the production. -Prepare lesson 2 speak  Questions *Key: a) She lives in Hue b) No. She doesn’t know her. c) “She wasn’t old enough to be in my class” d) She is going to visit Hoa at Christmas. Objectives :After finishing the lesson students( Sts) will be able to use descriptive adjectives to describe people. 2. Language contents :  Structures: S + be + Adj S + have / has + adj + N  Vocabulary bald, curly, blond, straight . 3. Techniques: eliciting, guessing game . 4. Teaching aids: pictures of activities in class-text book. 5. Procedures Teacher & Sts’ activities Contents Warm up: Brainstorm (5’) - T ask Sts to think of the adjective used describe body build and hair. Pre-Speaking: (10’) - T introduces the situation - Show Sts a pictures of Mary and ask them to describe her hair, her body build. - T gives correct answers - T asks Sts to practice speaking the dialogue in pair. - T remind Sts of the structure used to describe someone. While - Speaking: (15’) Short / Tall / Fat / Thin . Ex: She has long blond hair. She is short and thin. Form: S + have / has + Adjective + hair Ex: She has long black hair S + be + adjective Ex: She is short. Each student takes turn describing one picture, the other try to guess who He / She is ( teacher gives example) - Some pair do it in front of the class. Post- Speaking. Language contents :  Structures: Greeting structures  Vocabulary Review. 3. Techniques : open prediction 4. Teaching aids : a cassette player - pictures of activities in class-text book. 5. Procedures Teacher & Sts’ activities Contents Warm up: (5’) - Let Sts to describe the monitor of class and some other to describe their close friends. Pre-listening (10’) Teacher teach some vocabularies - Give Sts some expressions and make sure they know their meanings. - Get Sts to guess and complete four dialogue on page 12-13, using given expression - Give feedback. While - listening (20’) - Lets Sts listen to the tape twice. - Let Sts to work in pair to complete the dialogue and compare with their prediction - T corrects - T give correct answer. Post- listening (9’)  Expression: How do you do Nice to meet you It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’d like you to meet. Come and meet.  Vocabulary: - principal (n): (examples) ex: Mr Tri is a principal. - cousin (n) (Explanation)  Keys : I’d like you to meet. Nice to meet you I’d like you to meet. Language contents:  Structures: S + be + Adj +enough + to_inf  Vocabulary sociable, generous, extremely, reserved . 3. Techniques: eliciting , comprehension question, brainstorm. Network, chatting. 4. Teaching aids: a cassette player - pictures of activities in class-text book. 5. Procedures Teacher & Sts’ activities Contents Warm up: (5’) Ask Sts to describe the picture of Ronaldo. Pre-reading: (10’) - T ask Sts some questions to present the lesson. - T ask them to answer questions for what they want to know. - T introduce some new words. While - Reading (20’) - T ask Sts to read the text to find out the answer to their questions. * Question: How many friends does Ba have? What are they like? What do they like? What do they enjoy doing in their free time? Do they all have the same favorite activities? 1.
