Rules of word stress in English I. Rules of Word Stress in English There are two very simple rules about word stress: 1. One word has only one stress. 2. But do not rely on them too much, because there are many exceptions. It is better to try to "feel" the music of the language and to add the stress naturally. 1. Cách tìm trọng âm trong tiếng anh: Với những từ có 2 âm tiết :- Động từ : trọng âm rơi vào tiếng thứ 2 Ex : de'stroy pe'rmit - Danh từ, Tính từ , Trạng từ : trọng âm rơi vào tiếng đầu tiên Ex : do'ctor - Những từ có 3 âm tiết trở lên thì trọng âm rơi vào tiếng thứ 3 từ phải sang trài Ex : geography -> geo'graphy - Các từ có tận cùng là : tion , sion, ity,ety,ic,ical,ous,ian,al thì trọng âm rơi trước những từ này Ex : preparation -> prepara'tion - Các từ có tận cùng là : ese,ee,eer,oo,oon,ique,ed,esque thì trọng âm rơi vào những từ này Ex : Vietnamese' , employee' - Một số tiền tố và hậu tố ko ảnh hưởng đến trọng âm . Lúc đó ta phải xét đến từ gốc : re , dis,un,in,il,im,ir,ing,ful,ness,less,able,uos,ly,m ent.
