Yes, it is No, it isn’t Resources and Materials Materials: - CD track 1, 27, 36 - Class book - Workbook - A line of tape - Halves of pictures - Boxes of number cards and rails for groups - Tic-Tac-Toe square - Word cards - Crayons - Glue - Scissors Key Activities INTRODUCTION Weather Report: Weather songs or chants (“What’s the weather like today?”song downloaded from YouTube) - Teacher asks three questions: * What’s the day today? * What’s the month? * What’s the weather like today? Warm up and review:  Hangman - Divide the class into groups - Give students a topic, e.g colours, school things, etc - Say It’s a colour It has three letters - Write _ _ _ on the board - Each group takes turns guessing and saying out a letter, e.g “r” - Write _ _ r - Continue the game until students can guess the word correctly, Lesson presentation:  Introduce new vocabulary - Set a meaningful context to introduce new vocabulary (Today is Rosy’s birthday So her mother takes her to the toy shop to buy a present Let’s guess What is it?) - Give students a chance to look at and speaking out (they can speak in Vietnamese) - Use real things and pictures to introduce the new words: plane, puppet, robot, balloon, teddy - Play the recording (track 36) for students to listen and point to the pictures in their Class book p 22, then listen and repeat after the recording - Students practice chorally and individually 151 BÀI SOẠN THAM KHẢO – TIẾNG ANH TỰ CHỌN VÀ ĐỀ ÁN 2020  Guessing game - Students work in groups - Show a half of a picture of a toy - Students work in groups to try to guess what toy in the picture is - The students who give a correct guessing will get one point DEVELOPMENT  Introduce the question and answer - Set a meaningful context to introduce the new vocabulary (Let’s play a game and guess.) - Show a few boxes which having some toys inside - Pick up one and ask Is it a plane?
