The Hanging Gardens Of Babylon Located in Iraq ,about 89 km south of Baghdad. They were built by King Nebuchadnezzar in the 6 th century B.C to please .On these were planted gardens of tropical flowers and trees and avenues of palms . The Great Pyramid of Giza (2660 B.C – 2560 B.C) The most important and famous ones are at Giza ,on the west bank of the Nile River. They were between 2660 B.C. and 2560 B.C. for the kings Cheops, Chephren (Khafre), and Mycerinus. They were meant to house the pharaohs’ bodies and serve as reminders of their almighty power. The Statue of Zeus at Olympia (mid - 5 th century B.C) It was sculpted (mid- 5 th century ) by Phidias and placed in temple of Zeus at Olympia, Greece.
