Tính cấp thiết của đề tài Trên thế giới hiện nay tiếng Anh ngày càng được sử dụng rộng rãi trong nhiều lĩnh vực. Do đó, bắt đầu từ cuộc cải cách chương trình giáo dục từ 2002, Tiếng Anh đã trở thành bộ môn bắt buộccho hầu hết các học sinh trung học phổ thông (theo thuvienphapluat.vn). Tiếng Anh được giảng dạy 3 tiết một tuần ở các lớp không chuyên, và ở lớp chuyên là khoảng 4 – 6 tiết. Do ngữ pháp tiếng Anh rất được chú trọng đối với học sinh cấp III, chúng tôi thực hiện đề tài “Những lỗi học sinh lớp 10 trường THPT Hà nội- Amsterdam thường gặp khi làm bài tập thời thì động từ tiếng Anh và cách khắc phục” nhằm giúp học sinh nắm rõ hơn các quy tắc chia động từ, một mảng quan trọng của ngữ pháp. Đối tượng của nghiên cứu là học sinh lớp 10 chuyên Anh của trường Hà Nội - Amsterdam, một trường chuyên hàng đầu của cả nước. 2. Mục đích, đối tượng và phạm vi nghiên cứu của đề tài Khi tiến hành nghiên cứu này, mục đích của chúng tôi là để trả lời hai câu hỏi: 1. Những lỗi động từ tiếng Anh phổ biến mà học sinh lớp 10 thường mắc khi làm bài tập thời thì động từ là gì? 2. Có thể có những đề nghị nào giúp học sinh tránh những lỗi đó trong tương lai? Về đối tượng của nghiên cứu, chúng tôi chọn học sinh lớp 10 trường THPT Hanoi- Amsterdam 3. Cấu trúc của nghiên cứu Nghiên cứu của chúng tôi gồm 5 phần: Phần 1: Giới thiệu - Phần 2: Cơ sở lý luận - Phần 3: Phương pháp nghiên cứu - Phần 4: Kết quả và bàn luận - Phần 5: Kết luận PHẦN 2: CƠ SỞ LÝ LUẬN 1. Định nghĩa những khái niệm chính 1.1. Động từ Động từ là những từ dùng để chỉ hành động hay trạng thái. Xét về quy tắc sử dụng, động từ được chia theo các dạng khác nhau (bằng cách thêm –s, -ed, -ing hay dùng dạng quá khứ phân từ) và cách kết hợp của chúng với những từ khác. Khi thay đổi dạng, động từ thể hiện những trạng thái và hoàn cảnh khác nhau. 1.2. Hai khái niệm chỉ lỗi trong tiếng Anh Có rất nhiều cách định nghĩa hai khái niệm chỉ lỗi trong tiếng Anh là mistake và error. Theo từ điển Oxford phiên bản 8 năm 2010, từ điển online trên trang Glossary.com, cả hai từ đều chỉ một hành động sai do đánh giá sai, không biết hoặc không chú ý, và có thể thay thế cho nhau trong một số trường hợp nhất định, tuy nhiên error trang trọng hơn và chỉ lỗi trầm trọng hơn. Mặt khác, xét về cách dùng tổng quát của ngôn ngữ thứ hai, hai khái niệm có sự phân biệt rõ ràng khi người nói có khả năng nhận ra và sửa lỗi (mistake) và khi lỗi lặp đi lặp lại và người nói không nhận ra (error). Nghiên cứu của chúng tôi dựa chủ yếu theo cách phân loại của Kane (1983) nên error và mistake là hai từ có thể thay thế cho nhau, mặc dù error có pham vi lớn hơn mistake, cả hai từ đều chỉ những lỗi học sinh mắc phải trong khi làm bài tập chia động từ. 2. Lý thuyết những cách phân loại lỗi khác nhau 2.1. Lỗi phân loại theo nguyên nhân ngôn ngữ Theo Aitken (1992), lỗi có thể được phân loại theo các nguyên nhân liên quan đến ngôn ngữ như ảnh hưởng của tiếng mẹ đẻ, sử dụng sai ngữ cảnh hoặc sự trộn ngôn ngữ (liên quan tới sự không tương ứng giữa dịch nghĩa từ tiếng mẹ đẻ và tiếng Anh).
