Mục đích môn học: - Nhm to iu kin học sinh ho nhập v i cng ng quc t ; tip cn thông tin trên to n th gii v khoa hc k thut v các n n vn hoá khác. - L m thúc y kh nng giao tip ca hc sinh (c v ting m ). - Có th áp dng kin thc môn hc v o cu c sng nh : hiu các ch dn bng ting Anh trên các sn phm ; nghe c mt s chi dn. - Bên cnh ó chng trình ting Anh ph thông cũng c bit chú trng phi hp các ni dung giáo dc nhm nâng cao ý thc xã hi ,các vn m c ng ng ang quan tâm nh: ý thc bo v môi trng ; dân s ; tiết kim ngun nng lng ; v sinh hc đờng ; lut giao thông - Ngo i ra , bên c nh hc ngôn ng ting Anh hc sinh cũng c b sung kin thc v các môn hc khác nh : vn hc ; lch s ; a lý ; sinh vt v nh vy hc sinh cú th nâng cao kin thc chung của mình. II. c im môn học : - Học tiếng Anh có nghĩa là học tiếng nớc ngoài nên chúng ta phải học với một văn phong khác, một thói quen khác và yêu cầu chúng ta phải luân giao tiếp bằng ngôn ngữ ấy (nhất là trong giờ học). - Vì là ngôn ngữ mới nên chúng ta phải có chiều rộng về kiến thức chung của tiếng mẹ đẻ. III. Điểm giống nhau và khác nhau chính giữa hai ngôn ngữ: 1. Điểm giống nhau: Các chữ cái đều lấy trong bộ chữ cái La Tinh nên hầu hết các chữ cái giống nhau. 2. Điểm khác nhau: - Các chữ cái có cách đọc khác nhau. - Trong tiếng Anh , muốn đọc đợc thì phải mợn phiên âm quốc tế.(Gv phát cho học sinh tờ phiên âm quốc tế). Tiếng Việt Tiếng Anh Từ đợc ghép từ chữ cái Từ là tổ hợp các chữ cái Có thanh dấu Không có Danh từ đứng trớc tính từ Ngợc lại Cụm từ đợc dịch xuôi Thờng đợc dịch ngợc Có nhiều từ chỉ ngôi Chỉ có bảy từ Không chia động từ Chia động từ theo chủ ngữ và thời gian Đọc theo từ Đọc theo phiên âm IV.Cách học tiếng Anh trong chơng trình phổ thông. - Mục đích của chơng trình là giao tiếpnên học sinh phải thông thoạ cả bốn kỹ năng : đọc ; nghe ; nói ; viết. Nh vậy học sinh phai lắm đợc nhiều ngữ liệu để luyện tập giao tiếp. - Chúng ta có thể nhớ ngữ liệu thông qua tranh ảnh ; chủ điểm ; ngữ cảnh ; hiện tợng , sự việc liên quan đến từng tiết học.Phải luân luân luyện tập và đa từ vào câu để dễ sử dụng và nhớ lâu hơn. V.Giới thiệu chơng trình học và sách giáo khoa. - Chơng trình Tiếng Anh mới bắt đầu từ lớp 6 và kéo dài đến lớp 12.Trong đó ngữ pháp đợc học theo cách xoáy ốc, có nghĩa là vừa ôn lại vừa nâng cao.Trong quá trình học thì học sinh làm chủ tiết học, giáo viên chỉ là ngời tháo gỡ những thắc mắc của học sinh. - Sách Tiếng Anh 6 gồm 16 chủ điểm.Trong mỗi chủ điểm gồm từ 5 đến 6 tiết học.
