Let me say a few words before we focus on the main activities. You know, for the majority of students, English is really difficult to master and they find it hard to communicate with the others in English. For this reason, Phan Thanh Tai High School’s English Club is set up to stimulate the spirit of learning English among students and also gives students good chance to practise and improve their English. We hope that in the near future more and more students will become the members of the club and will take part in the activities of the club with more enthusiasm. 3. Now I would like to introduce to you the representatives of the board of principal attending the opening ceremony of the English club today. Mr. ………………….. PART 2: THE COMPETITION’S RULE 1. Explaining general rule: To participate in the competition, you have to work in teams of 12. There are 5 activities in the competition. In each activity, you will have to do as required and finish your work in a limited time. The judges will observe, score your performance, and then announce the result. The team with the best welldone job will be the winner. 2. Forming teams: Students have to count from number 1 to 4. After counting, students form the teams of the same number. PART 3: THE ACTIVITIES 1. Let’s begin with the first activity named “2 minutes to be famous”. Work in team in 5 minutes Appoint the group leader Get to know each other (You may raise some questions to get personal information about your teammates) Introduce your team’s members to everyone in an attractive way (The team with the most impressive introduction will be the winner) 2. The 2nd game named “Looking and Guessing” One student plays the role of Mr. Bean After seeing the cards, Mr. Bean uses hisher body language or gesture to perform what is meant in each card. Students work in team, look at what Mr. Bean is doing and name exactly the action Mr. Bean implies. 3. “Stop the bus” Work in team Write words beginning with the same letter for each topic 4. Listen to the song and fill in the missing words. Guess the name of the song Name the animals shown in the video clip 5.
