THE SIOUX INDIANS The Sioux lived in the Great Plains They lived in tents which they called teepees and they moved from camp to camp They hunted buffalo They hunted on foot and on horseback They used bows and arrows to hunt They were excellent horsemen and they trained the wild horses that lived in the prairie – a grassy place The wild horses bucked and threw the Indians to the ground But the Indians tamed and the horses Then they rode them Indians could ride very well Buffaloes were very important for the Indians With the buffalo hide they made teepees, clothes and rope with the buffalo’s hair They ate the meat too The Indians wore war paint on their faces and a head-dress made of feathers Label the picture with the following words : a teepee, feathers, an Indian boy, a wild horse, a buffalo, a grassy place/ the prairie, a head-dress and a bow and arrow _ _ _ _ _
