GIÁO ÁN ENGLISH Date of preparing: Date of teaching: Week: 30 Period: 90 UNIT 15: COUNTRIES WE ARE THE WORLD (A1- A3) I Objectives; *Knowledge:Present Countries, Nationlities and Languages vocabulary to talk about where people are from *Language skills: focus on speaking and writing skills II.Preparation: *Teacher:Pictures, textbook,CD player/cassette,teaching aids *Student: book,learning aids III.Procedures: Teacher’s activities 1.Warmup:*Brainstorm - Ask students to think of some country names - Get them to go to the board and write down their ideas - Give feedback 2.Presentation:*Elicit vocabulary • Translation • Explanation • Situation • Translation • Use the pictures to work out the country names in Vietnamese *Slap the board - Put the Vietnamese translation on the board - Call two students of two teams to the front of the class - Call out one of English words in loud voice *Presenation Text - Let students to listen to the cassette and repeat - Introduce oneself and others: + I’m (teacher’s name) I’m from Viet Nam And this is John He ‘s from the USA 3.Practice:- Ask some students some questions and to introduce the Whquestion “Where is …… from?” and the answer “He / She’s from …………” - Point to the questions and answer to get students to isolate the model sentences 4.Consolidation:*Nought and crosses - Put the grid on the board - Divide class into teams One is noughts (O) and the other is Crosses (X) - Two teams choose any words in the boxes and ask questions about county Students’ activities - Listen to the teacher - Students to think of some coutry names - Go to the board and write down their idea USA Content on the board Japan Viet Nam Canada Counties China - Listen to the teacher 1- Vocabulary: - Repeat after the - the world: teacher - a country: - Notice the main stress - a nationality: pattern - to speak: - Write the new words -Canada/France/China/theUSA/Japan / in their notebooks Great Britain/Australia/Viet Nam -Group works - Say the Vietnamese translation - Run forward and slap the correct words on the board - Continue until students have slapped all the words - Listen to the cassette and repeat - Pay attention to the teacher Vocabulary 2-Structure: - Where are you from? - I’m from Viet Nam - Where is she from? - She is from France *Form - Introduce themselves and others - Where is / are + S + from? - Answer the teacher’s - S + am / is / are + from + name of questions country - Give the form, 3.Practice: meaning and use a.Where are you from?
