Hi trobaràs tots els punts de gramàtica i de vocabulari del curs d’anglès que segueixes aplegats en un sol lloc, cosa que t’ajudarà a preparar-te per als Unit Tests i els Progress Tests. La mida del llibre és molt pràctica, cosa que et permetrà fer-lo servir a classe al costat del netbook. També et serà molt fàcil dur-lo amunt i avall, i així podràs estudiar o fer-hi consultes en qualsevol moment. Material de referència El Companion conté explicacions clares que permeten l’estudi autònom, i inclou una pàgina d’autoavaluació al nal de cada unitat perquè puguis fer un seguiment del teu progrés. Grammar reference Repassa la forma i l’ús de les estructures gramaticals que has estudiat a classe a través de: •taulesil·lustratives •exemplesdelspuntsgramaticalsidel seu ús en context •explicacionsencatalà. Words and expressions to learn Fes memòria del vocabulari i les expressions clau que has après a cada unitat. •totelvocabulariclauestàagrupat segons el tema •toteslesexpressionsclauestan agrupades segons la funció comunicativa •hihaespaiperquèescriguislatraducció de paraules i expressions; així les aprendràs més bé. Jack and Lucy’s = d’en Jack i la Lucy Usos El possessiu en ’s fa referència a persones i animals que posseeixen algú o alguna cosa o hi tenen relació. Suzy’s dictionary = el diccionari de la Suzy the girls’ bags = les bosses de les noies Subject pronouns and possessive adjectives Pronom de subjecte Adjectius possessius I my you your he his she her it its we our you your they their EPGC1Cat.indb 6 18/08/2011 10:34 7 Usos Els pronoms de subjecte substitueixen substantius als quals ja s’ha fet referència. Precedeixen el verb. The book is here. It’s on the table. = El llibre és aquí. És damunt de la taula. Els adjectius possessius indiquen que algú posseeix un objecte, un animal o està vinculat a una pesona. Es fan servir quan la identitat d’aquesta persona, animal o objecte ja se sap. Precedeixen el subjecte. Paul’s pencil is here. His pencil is on the desk. = El llapis d’en Paul és aquí. El seu llapis és sobre la taula. Recorda: els pronoms de subjecte no es poden ometre. I am Mia. = Sóc la Mia. El negatiu es forma amb not o n’t darrere del verb. He isn’t in my class. = Ell no ve a la meva classe. Yes, you are. No, you aren’t. Is he … ? Yes, he is. No, he isn’t. Is she … ? Yes, she is. No, she isn’t. Is it … ? Yes, it is. No, it isn’t. Are we … ? Yes, we are. No, we aren’t. Are you … ? Yes, you are. No, you aren’t. Are they … ? Yes, they are. No, they aren’t. En preguntes del tipus yes/no, el verb be encapçala la frase. El segueix el subjecte. Are you popular at school? = Ets coneguda a l’escola? En l’anglès oral i informal es fan servir les formes contractes per a les respostes breus negatives. Recorda: en la forma armativa no hi ha formes contractes. Usos El verb be es fa servir per preguntar sobre la identitat o la descripció d’una persona, animal o objecte, o per conrmar-la. She’s our teacher. = Ella és la nostra professora. Are you in Toledo? = Ets a Toledo? The bag isn’t black. = La bossa no és negra.
