Either or adalah kata penghubung korelatif (Correlative conjunction) yang bersifat positif dan menyatakan salah satu kemungkinan dari dua kemungkinan yang ada. Contoh: “you’re going to the shop, or you’re going to the market. Is that right?” “yes, i’m going either to the shop or to the market” (Anda mau ke toko, atau anda mau ke pasar. Betulkah? Ya, saya mau ke toko atau ke pasar). 2. Neither nor adalah kebalikan dari either or yang mengkonotasikan pengertian tak satu pun dari dua kemungkinan yang diakui adanya atau berlakunya.
