Knowledge: Students remember the grammar structures of regular verbs /irregular verbs in the simple past and how to use the simple past tense to tell things/events happened in the past. 2. Skills: Practise reading and speaking. 3. Attitude : Ss are voluntary and active. II. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, students will be able to - Remember new words - Use Past simple to make sentences. III. Method: Integrated, mainly communicative IV. Teaching Aids : Colour chalks, handouts ,pictures. V. Procedure Time Teacher’s activities Students' activities 10' Warm up Ask Ss to look at these sentences and explain what tense is it?. - When did you go home? - I didn't go out last night. Starter - Ask Ss to read the words and give the past simple of these words.ask them to pay attention on irregular verbs. Students \vork in pairs and say the Past Simple of the verbs in the box. If they have problems with the form of any of the irregular verbs, refer them to the irregularverb list on - answer - Listen and try to remember the past simple - Answers 1.eat- ate 2.drink- drank 3.drive- droe 4.fly - flew 5.listen- listened 1 pl-12. - Call out Ss to write on the board. - Check the answers with the whole class, getting students to spell the past forms and making sure they can pronounce them correctly. - Correct the answer Ask Ss to answer the questions. 1.Did you ride a bike? 2.Did you drive a car? 6.make- made 7.ride- rode 8.take- took 9.watch- watched 10.wear- wore Answer 1. Read and listen, and correct the dates. Students read the three texts, checking new words in their dictionaries.
