Viet Nam is in the Southest Asia.  Viet Nam, which is in the Southest Asia, exports rice. a, Defining relative clause. b, Non- defining relative clause Eg: (defining relative clause) (non- defining clause) * Defining relative clause: được sử dụng để xác định danh từ đứng trước nó, nếu không có mệnh đề này thì người đọc/người nghe không biết người viết/ nói đề cập đến người/ vật nào. * Non- defining relative clause: được sử dụng để cung cấp thêm cho danh từ đứng trước nó, trong văn viết nó được tách khỏi các thành phần khác trong câu bằng dấu phẩy. 2. Relative clauses The novel has been lost. You gave me the novel on my birthday. Notes: * We can’t use “that” in non- defining relative clause • We can’t leave “who/which” in non- defining relative clause Underline the relative clause in the sentence.
