AIMS: By the end of the lesson Students will be able to ask & answer with the question : “What is it ?” II. LANGUAGE CONTENTS: 1. Vocabulary: ball, bat, bicycle, car, doll, jump rope, kite, puzzle, robot , Yo - yo . 2. Sentence patterns: What is it ?. I don’t know. It’s a (doll). III. TEACHING AIDS: Teacher cards (77-86), cassette, puppets. IV. PROCEDURES: CONTENTS &TECHNIQUES WORK ASSIGNMENTS 1. Warm up: -Sing “The Happy Birthday Song” -Role-play the dialogue from Let’s Talk ( Unit 5) - Say the names of the toys 2. Presentation: a)Present the question- and- answer pattern: Use puppets to present P A: “what is it”? P B: “It’s a ( doll)” P A: “what is it”? P B: “I don’t know” b) Practice: Asking & answering 3. Open your books: page 40 a) Identify the characters & describe the pictures b) Play the cassette, students listen & point - Play the cassette again, students listen, point & repeat c) Practice the dialogue d) Write the paradigm & contraction (page 40) on the board. Have students repeat after the teacher.
