Aim: By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to know popular sports in America. Skills four skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing. II. Language contents: 1. Warm up:  Introduce the topic.  Ask students which sports are their favorite ones and when in their free time which one they often play. 2. Name Plays sports Reads books Watches TV Goes out Learns how to cook Taân Chaâu Education Office Taân Chaâu Junior Secondary School  Let them look at the pictures indicating sports.  Ask whether some of them play any of the sports in the pictures.  Tell them the content of the reading they are going to listen and read.  Name 10 sports which are the most popular that the young in America love to play.  Let students listen to the cassette twice.  Ask them to read by themselves.  Call some students and ask them to tell the name of some sports listed in the reading. -T says “playing sports is one of the most popular freetime activies around the world. In this lesson and in the following ones we will learn about this topic. -T asks Ss. -T presents some pictures and asks Ss. -T explains new words from some pictures. -Ss give the meaning of these words. -Ss practice (choral and individual). -T checks (slab the board).  Have some of the students do some actions illustrating some sports to attract their attention more, and then ask others to guess what they are.  Ask students if they know how to play any of these 10 sports.  Let them practice in pairs, asking and answering the questions given.  Call some pairs to drill before class, correct if there are any mistakes.  Ask them to take notes. -These above are 5 among 10 sports which American teenagers like most. Language Teacher : Leâ Phöôùc Bình Page - 4 – Lesson plan 7 SPORTS A3 + A5 Most popular sports Tân Châu Education Office Tân Châu Junior Secondary School “How does he play soccer?” -Ss answer. -T says. -T use sub situation drill and let’s work on the pictures. -T has Ss to work in pairs after explaining new words. -T tells the differences between adjectives and adverbs and how they are used in a sentence. -Ss. lets Ss Practice, -T. explains the different how to use adverb and adjective  Write 6 pairs of sentences on the board and call some students to underline the adjectives and adverbs in these sentences.  Tell students the difference between adjectives and adverbs and how they are used in a sentence.  Give them some more adjectives and adverbs, and then ask them to write more sentences, using the adjectives and adverbs given. Let students take notes -Ss. Base on the notice and practice -Ss. Practice the words and play the games. 1) What does he do? 2) Is he a good soccer player? a) He is a good soccer player. He plays well. b) She’s a slow swimmer. She swims slowly. Practice: Now all of you listen to the laptop then scane the pictures and practice the adverbs and the adjectives. You should the way to use adverbs and adjectives they are different.
