In this period there have been many advances in both fundamental aspects of these materials and in the discoveries of new applications.Given the dynamics in this area, we understand that updates on the different aspects involved are necessary to follow these developments taking place around the world. With this objective we drew upon a number of distinguished authors, to contribute to this publication. The chapters within this book have been classified according to their characteristics in fundaments and applications. Therefore, the first two chapters are dedicated to studies about permittivity, conductivity and triplet paramagnetic centers in conducting polymers. The applied aspects were organized covering the following subjects: the use of conducting polymers to minimize metallic corrosion, different points of view on the use of conducting polymers in various sensors, the use of conducting polymers to obtain nanomaterials, and finally, a fractal view of a conducting polymer membrane. Finally, it was a privilege to interact with the researchers who contributed to this book. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their dedication and for meeting deadlines. Special thanks must be made to Ms. Molly Kaliman, Publishing Process Manager, for the attention and commitment to this task.  Professor Artur de Jesus Motheo Interfacial Electrochemistry Group, Department of Physical Chemistry, Institute of Chemistry of Sao Carlos, University of São Paulo Brazil .
