September, 1998 System Architecture System 600 to Merlin Gerin Sepam 2000 Integration Architecture IOS (Ethernet) Insight Operator Workstation Building Level Network (P2) MBC MBC Containing Open Processor with Sepam 2000 Driver SCU RS485 MerMerli Merlin Gerin Sepam 2000 J-Bus Network Notes on System Architecture The Merlin Gerin SEPAM 2000 driver provides communication between the Apogee/System 600 and the Merlin Gerin SEPAM 2000 network. Each driver allows connection to up to 32 Merlin Gerin SEPAM 2000 devices. A separate driver is required for each panel per this number of devices. Functionality The Merlin Gerin SEPAM 2000 driver performs basic monitoring and control functions. It will map specific Name points into the Apogee/System 600 so that they can be accessed by standard applications such as PPCL, TOD, Trending, Enhanced alarms, Point Modules, and TIU. Landis & Staefa FLN devices are not supported by this open processor. Total point count, including virtual points in the driver, cannot exceed 2000. We do not affect, in any way, the operating sequence or safeties as factory programmed into the Name panels. Keys to Success The SEPAM 2000 devices should be communicating with the Merlin Gerin SEPAM 2000 network prior to startup. Point Data Supported Because of the number of parameters supported by the Sepam 2000 OPD, two drops are required for the mapping of parameters to the OPD's database for each Sepam 2000 device.
