How I Made $603,094.00 In 1 Week

The Internet Marketing Uncut Launch Diary How I Made $603,094.00 In Week ©Tristan Bull 2008 My name is Tristan Bull Back in September 2008 I generated $603,094.00 from an Internet Marketing product launch for a product of mine called Internet Marketing Uncut This was my first attempt at making a lot of money from a product launch and it took a lot of planning and dedication Throughout the months leading up to the launch I kept notes documenting what I was doing and the results I was having This book is designed to show you exactly what I done, the steps I took, the people I worked with and everything in between You can literally look over my shoulder as I go through the entire process This book is written in past tense as I look back and recall the events that happened during that time This is also done to make the book easier to read as some of the notes I have don’t quiet make sense on their own Throughout the book I reflect back on everything I did and point out things I would of done differently, things I would of kept the same and things I would of improved on I also discuss some of the people I interacted with during that time I was lucky enough to get in contact with some big name “guru’s” and I reflect on how helpful they were or weren’t, how I was able to get in touch with them, some of the important things I learned and my overall general opinion I wrote this book with the intensions of being both motivational and educational Even though I have a largely successful launch under my belt there is a high possibility that you have never heard of me before and I like it like that That fact helps me prove that you don’t need to be a massively well known person in the Internet Marketing niche or any niche to make a lot of money Yes it does help and makes things easier but you can still it even if no one knows who you are I also want this to be educational and help people so they can go off and recreate what I have done with the same results if not better So I wrote this making sure I didn’t skip any important details, I wanted this to be a “tell all” type book with every detail and every step covered Lastly I wrote this for the person who wants to make a living online and wants to achieve their dreams but is finding it difficult and getting discouraged and confused I hope this book makes things crystal clear for you and provides hope and inspiration as well as provide you with the tools and resources you need to be a success There is no limit to your possibilities, you deserve success Chapter One Product When I first decided I wanted to a big launch I knew that I need to have a special type of product The simple fact is that if your product sucks then all that is going to happen is that you are going to get a lot of refunds and ultimately make little or no money at all So I knew that my product was a very important part to this process I have been big fans of both Frank Kern and Jeff Walker and studied their material over and over again I decided that I would model my product and my product launch on Frank’s Mass Control and Jeff’s Product Launch Formula One thing I decided on early was the price point Both Frank and Jeff’s products were priced at $1997 So I decided I would price my product the same Now this was a bit of a risk because no one knew who I was and I didn’t have a strong reputation yet unlike Frank and Jeff who were very well known and pretty much “famous” in the Internet Marketing world Regardless I decided to stick with it because I believed in the launch process that both Frank and Jeff had taught in their respective products However if I was going to charge $1997 I knew that I needed to have an EXCELLENT product Not just a good product or a great product it had to be EXCELLENT I had to rely on my product to the talking for me, I knew that I couldn’t just get by on my name so I had to create something that was so good that people would stop and take notice just because of the high quality of the content I also knew that I would be trying to get many of the big name guru’s to partner with me and I knew it was going to be hard since I didn’t know any of them and wasn’t a part of their inner circle So the plan was to have a product that was so good all I needed to was somehow get them to take a look at it and once they did they would agree to partner with me So when I started creating my product I done so with the thought that big name guru’s would be seeing this so I had to make sure it was up to their standard After I had figured out the price I had to work out what the product would actually be about I knew what type of product I was going to create that was easy, a video course Video has a higher perceived value and all the big launches were done in video format So that was a no brainer, I would simply use Camtasia to record my video course But what would be the topic, what would I actually teach? At this stage I had been moderately successful online The money I was making online allowed me to work at home full time I was easily able to create info products, put up a website, build a list and make thousands of dollars on a weekly basis So I decided to teach that entire process Most people just want something that will allow them to work from home or quit their job I already knew how to that So I figured why don’t I teach that ENTIRE process Looking back I probably didn’t need to cover as much as I did The product covered every little thing you could think of when it comes to making money online From product creation, to registering a domain, to generating traffic, building a list, jv partners, product launches etc it was a MASSIVE product Most of the other big launches focused on a particular area Jeff Walker’s PLF focuses on product launches and Frank Kern’s Mass Control focuses on product launches and email marketing I focused on everything to with making money online The course ended up being 44 videos long totalling over hours of content and took a little over months to create Even though it was probably a little too big it was impressive I was extremely confident that it was worth the $1997 price tag and people would be satisfied with their purchase I also had a powerful bargaining tool on my hands My course proved that I knew what I was talking about and that would come in handy when trying to prove myself to potential JV partners How I actually created my product was fairly simple I already knew a lot of information already but the things I didn’t know I researched I broke everything down in sections such as product creation and list building Then I would research everything I could about each topic and put together a little file containing the best quality info Then I would plan out each individual video by making PowerPoint presentations and then simply record them using Camtasia So once I had finished my product it was time to start preparing the actual launch of the product Chapter Two Preparing The Launch I wanted to give myself plenty of time to attract JV partners I wanted to dedicate the entire month of July to finding JV partners and getting them on board I also gave myself enough time to build relationships and rapport so I could get my foot in the door This was a long process but I was committed I didn’t really have any big name contacts so I developed a somewhat unique method of getting in touch with potential JV partners I would go to a salespage for a product I can’t remember which salespage I was on when I first done this but it doesn’t matter just any Internet Marketing product salepage will I would then look through the testimonials and find the people who had a website in their testimonial I would follow the website and if firstly the site loaded and it looked like it was a fairly successful website I would find the contact details and put them into a spreadsheet in Excel There are so many Internet Marketing guru’s out there it is hard to remember them all but if you find a salespage and look through the testimonials you will often see many big names that you have just forgotten about and when you click threw to the sites that have a whole bunch of testimonials you can find lots of successful marketers and the process just goes on and on So I used that method to get as many names and email addresses as I could, I then stored them in a spreadsheet in Excel and created columns that told me if I had sent them an email yet and if they had replied You simply have to keep track of this because it gets to overwhelming and you won’t be able to cope Once I had a decent sized list of people to contact I opened up a new gmail account specifically for the purpose of contacting JV partners and sent each person an individual email I didn’t have any set template I used or anything like that All I did was try and make it personal, obviously address them by name and maybe mention one of their products or a recent event they attended Something so it doesn’t seem like that same email is going out to hundreds of others I would also say that I am happy to provide them with a review copy of my product and to let me know their preferred address so I could send it One thing that I believe helped me stand out was my high price point It was a $1997 product and I offered 50% commission so they were getting almost $1000 for every sale they made This appealed to people with big lists because they started to the numbers in the head thinking they could easily make or 10 sales no problem An initial email to potential JV partners I would send would look something like this: Hi NAME This is Tristan Bull here I would just like to invite you to be a partner for my upcoming launch of my new product entitled Internet Marketing Uncut Having studied alot of your material in the past especially PRODUCT NAME it would be an absolute pleasure working with you Internet Marketing Uncut is going to be sold for $1997 and I am offering you 50% commission on every sale you make I can send you a review copy immediately just let me know where you would like me to send it Looking forward to hearing from you soon Thanks, Tristan Bull I would spend most days searching for new partners and emailing them trying to get them on board Another place I went was the Warrior Forum There are a lot of successful people at the Warrior Forum so I would search the threads and try and scope out who was making money and who would be a good potential JV partner The good thing about forums is that when you send a PM you are more likely to get a reply because most PM’s are from real people and are not spam You are almost guaranteed that your PM will get read This was a huge advantage when getting in contact with some of the bigger names on the Warrior Forum Of course the bigger the name the more PM’s they get so it can be a bit difficult to stand out but you have a very high chance of getting your PM read so just make sure your message is good So I would search both the Warrior Forum and numerous salespages every day and send out emails Those that replied I would send out a review copy and wait to hear back from them One of the most pleasing things was that I was getting great feedback from the people who I gave review copies to They watched the videos and loved the course so that was very pleasing I was confident that people would like it but you are always a little nervous when someone else sees your product for the first time So after the first handful of people who reviewed it were happy I was confident I could take it to the big boys I had created a separate list in Excel containing all the top Internet Marketers I could think of The guys that are household names, the guys that come to mind if I asked you to name top Internet Marketers Now it was going to be a little more difficult to get in contact with these guys as they would receive 100’s of emails daily and it would be tough to stand out from the crowd and get noticed Another thing that I found difficult was to get taken seriously A lot of the experts assume that you have no idea what you are talking about and you have just smashed together an ebook or something and want them to promote it for you I can understand that because a lot of requests are simply that, I even get those types myself so I could image what these big guys would get So just trying to let the guru know that you are serious and you are educated was a bigger challenge than I first anticipated I had two plans of attack to try and get in contact with big name guru’s First one was to simply email them and hope they replied and the second one was to build relationships with people who could get me in contact with some of the big names or at least give me a good recommendation One method I found quiet effective when trying to contact them directly was to go through their help desk These guys are professionals so customer satisfaction is very important to them So I found that if I wrote a JV proposal through the help desk I was almost guaranteed to get at least a reply Most of the time the reply would be from a support staff not the guru directly but they would usually pass my request on to him or her That was a great way to get my product in front of some pretty powerful people After some time manually searching for JV partners and making requests I came across a guy by the name of Mike Merz Some of you will probably of heard of him before He is a professional JV broker So he has big name contacts and can get in touch with them on your behalf This was the perfect solution for me to get in contact with some of the industry’s biggest names Chapter Three JV Notify Pro Mike Merz offers a service at JvNotifyPro.com where he can announce your launch on his forum to the JVNP community and he can also personally send out JV invitations to some of the biggest names in Internet Marketing He will this for a flat fee or a percentage of sales made Once I found out about Mike I decided to contact him right away and see what his thoughts were and if he would work with me Over a couple of email consultations we agreed to work together The first step was to announce it to his community via the JVNP forum Now at this stage I hadn’t set up any affiliate program or anything like that so I actually should of had that all organized before I even contacted Mike I also had to set up a special affiliate account for Mike so people who signed up on the forum signed up under Mike I decided to go with 1shoppingcart.com for this I had never used 1shoppingcart before so it took a little time to work out how everything worked but their video tutorials are pretty good and it didn’t take me to long to get a handle on it What I needed to was write up a JV request that Mike would announce to the JVNP community via the forum and his newsletter You are basically competing with every other marketer out there who is launching a product but you are competing for affiliates not sales The bigger the name you were the more affiliates you got because you were well known and trusted I remember that the guys from Day Job Killer had just announced their new product around the same time I announced mine So they got the majority of attention but it was ok because their product was launching before mine was At this stage I had to make a few important decisions, firstly I needed to settle on a date to launch I hadn’t settled on a particular date yet as I wanted to allow myself enough time to get JV partners But I had to decide on a date now so I could announce it on Mike’s forum It was still mid July by that time so I decided on a September 1st launch That still gave me plenty of time to attract new affiliates and begin the pre-launch phase in April Another thing I had to decide on was whether or not to give away review copies of my product to the people on Mike’s forum It’s common practise to allow a potential JV partner to review the product so they can feel comfortable promoting it I just wasn’t too sure if I should make it freely available in a public forum, even if it was full of potential affiliates After talking to Mike he said it would be best to give out as much as possible so affiliates can fully support and recommend my product So I decided to go with it and I allowed review access to everyone who signed up as a JV partner Looking back I’m not too sure if this was a good thing or a bad thing I think a lot of people just signed up as a JV so they could get the product for free but on the other hand the genuine affiliates really got behind it 100% once they saw how good the product was So I think it had it’s good and bad points If I were to it again I would probably have it so that people had to request a review copy instead of getting one automatically as soon as they signed up This is a very important step and was crucial in getting my affiliates motivated During this time I had been going over Frank Kern’s Mass Control launch Looking back at his blog posts and videos One thing I discovered was that he was running a JV competition for his Mass Control launch A JV competition is where prizes are given to the affiliate or JV partner who accumulates the most sales They usually have a top 10 ranking system and there is a different prize for each position After doing some research I discovered Jeff Walker and Mike Filsaime were doing the same thing They would run JV competitions during their launches and offer prizes to the people who made the most sales This was a great way to motivate affiliates and with the ranking system it really brings out their competitive sides So I decided that I must run a JV competition The problem was I didn’t have as much money as those guys to afford all the cool prizes Also they were pretty much guaranteed to make a profit with their launches because of who they were and the reputation and credibility they had I didn’t have the name or the credibility or the reputations these guys had so it was still a bit of a risk for me to shell out all this money for prizes especially if the launch didn’t so well So I found a simple solution In the terms of the JV competition I stated that you had to make at least 10 sales to qualify for a prize This has me covered At $1997 10 sales would be $19,997 which would be more than enough to cover the prizes So I came up with some really cool prizes Plasma TV’s and gaming consoles seemed to be the standard so I included them but for the 1st prize I offered a night vacation to Queensland, Australia This included accommodation at a star luxury motel and return airfare plus a park super pass to the three theme parks situated on the Gold Coast This was a really sweet prize and stood out amongst the rest I was able to cover the cost of the trip by stating that you had to make 10 sales to qualify for any prize I had a total of prizes So the people who won the prizes all had to generate a minimum of 10 sales each which nearly totalled $100,000 so I was able to easily cover all the prizes In case you are interested the prizes were: 1st prize – Holdiay 2nd prize – 50” Plasma TV 3rd prize – White Apple Macbook 4th prize – Nintendo Wii Bundle 5th prize – Apple iTouch I highly suggest you run a JV competition if you are planning to a launch It is a great motivator and will skyrocket your sales This made my JV offer very attractive Not only did I have a product that was getting positive reviews, I offered almost $1000 commissions for every sale affiliates made and I had really awesome prizes up for grabs People wanted to promote my launch because they had a variety of different reasons to So I continued to search for JV partners on a daily basis as well as get new signups from Mike’s JVNP At this stage I had around 500 affiliates who had signed up to promote my launch Chapter Four Getting The Big Fish In this section I want to talk about my experiences with some of the big names in the Internet Marketing industry I had a few interesting experiences with a few different people Unfortunately in the end I wasn’t able to land a really BIG fish I came close to getting a couple but couldn’t quite close the deal I am going to share these stories with you But before I I want to point out that I was still successful even though I didn’t end up getting a JV with a really big Internet Marketer That can sometimes be a bit of a misconception where people think you have to be well known or friends with the well known to be a success Even though I tried hard to get a JV from at least one really big name and I most likely would of made a lot more money if I were able to I still had a successful launch without them No doubt I would of loved to get a JV with one of the big names, it would of been so much easier and I am sure I would of made a LOT more money but the fact that I still made a lot of money proves that you don’t need big name support you can still it yourself With that said I did still have a lot of affiliates and a lot of the “medium sized fish” as affiliates who had large responsive lists So don’t get confused you need affiliates to help promote your launch One of the main reasons I wasn’t able to land some of the big names was because I didn’t have a big name I didn’t have a well known reputation and I didn’t have someone who did who could back me up I relied heavily on Mike Merz to get me JV’s with the biggest names and in hindsight I probably should of tried more myself Although Mike was great he was having a hard time getting commitments since I had a high ticket item and no one had heard of me before The big guys were a little hesitant to put their name to something that was very expensive and by a guy they had never heard of Mike told me I would of have better luck if I had launched a small ticket item through JVNP first so then I would of had some results and more of a name So obviously looking back I would of launched a small ticket item first as it was a bit disappointing to hear Mike say he couldn’t really much more for me So once I got the news from Mike I decided that even though I was running out of time I would attempt to contact some big names myself and maybe if I could have a chat with them they could get to know me and take a look at my product and hopefully promote it The first guy I got in contact with was Jasson Moffat Jason is a regular on the Warrior Forum and is well known for his relationship with Internet Marketing heavy hitters Frank Kern and Ed Dale Jason is a very cool guy That’s his “thing” and if you know Jason you will understand what I mean He was very helpful and very easy to talk to He gave me a few good pointers and some helpful advice But he didn’t really give much away when it came to a partnership or directing me to the people who would be interested in a partnership He declined a request to become a JV partner because he only wanted to promote Frank Kern’s stuff because his list was really responsive to it Which is completely understandable Of course I asked if he could get me in touch with Frank himself and of course he said no which again is completely understandable, but I had to ask Jason is a nice guy and knows his stuff One thing I found interesting was that he seemed very protective of his relationships with some of the big name gurus He didn’t want to anything to spoil or wreck it Throughout our conversations he would often say that he has worked on building those relationships for years and doesn’t want to anything to wreck that I asked him with his status and powerful relationships why he hasn’t came out with his own major product launch yet as he would have a lot of powerful people support it and promote for him He told me he was waiting for the perfect moment and that throughout the entire time he has never asked for a promotion or mail out from his guru buddies I found this really interesting I sort of got the impression that Jason didn’t realize how much of a “big name” he really was and how liked and respected he was by the general Internet Marketing community Jason is known for being one of the most coolest dudes around that provides honest straight up high quality products I am sure that if he were to a big launch that everyone would support him and his guru buddies would promote for him No doubt he would make an absolute killing Of course that is just my opinion and Jason knows exactly what he is doing I just found it very interesting that he has established a big name for himself but he isn’t doing massive launches like the other Internet guru’s I tried very hard to get Jason on board but he wouldn’t budge I even offered him a deal where if he would recommend me to some of his more powerful friends for every sale they generated he would get a cut Finally I tried to get him to a testimonial or an endorsement but still no luck The only way that was going to happen was if I paid him to review my product so I decided it was time to move on and try and land some other big fish I then tried to get in touch with Michael Rassmussen Initially things looked promising I sent a JV request to Michael through his support desk and his assistant replied She passed the request on to Michael and he told her to tell me to send over a review copy So I did Unfortunately that was the last I heard from Michael I sent numerous follow up messages and eventually got a standard reply that Michael had a full schedule at this time This was the part that I found most frustrating I was overlooked because my name was not well known I wasn’t high on the priorities list so I didn’t get paid too much attention I just wished that I could of spoken to Michael directly as I believe I would of been able to strike up a partnership But the thing with big name guru’s is that they have a lot of staff that filter out all these types of requests so unless you know them personally or are friends with someone who does it’s hard to get direct contact Joel Comm was another near miss There are a few things I would of done differently in this situation Firstly Joel has a JV section where you pay $500 and him and his team will review your product and if they like it they will JV with you I simply should of just done this That would of guaranteed that Joel would of seen my product and reviewed it and because it was a very good product there would of been a high chance Joel would of agreed to a JV Even if he didn’t I could of at least got a recommendation/testimonial or he could of helped me get JV’s with other people So that is definitely one thing I should of done Instead I just emailed the support desk and got a reply from one of his staff Again things looked promising early on They told me they were interested in a JV and to get my JV broker Mike Merz to contact Joel directly to get things set up Now I am still not 100% sure if Mike contacted Joel or not I did ask him a few times and he said he would but as time passed I didn’t hear anything Then Mike emailed showing me an announcement from Joel saying that he was going to be releasing his new book on January 2nd So I don’t think Mike actually got in contact with Joel about my launch and perhaps if he had earlier on we might of been able to something But it is no one’s fault, just confusion and miscommunication Plus I should of just paid the $500 review fee in the first place to guarantee that Joel would of seen my product Another interesting story I have is about Mark Joyner At the time I believed I was almost certain to a JV with Mark but unfortunately it didn’t happen Again I got in contact with one of his staff members and I was directed to the person who handles JV partnerships So after some back and forth with him I sent my product for him to review He did get back to me and he said that he really like the product He is just going through it again and will be in touch soon After a couple of weeks of not hearing back I emailed him and he got back to me saying that he was leaving Mark Joyner’s company and he has forwarded my request to his replacement I then tried to follow up with his replacement but I never got a reply I was very close a lot of the times but it didn’t quite get there which was very frustrating Then I got in contact with Willie Crawford Willie Crawford is very well known at the Warrior Forum and is an exceptional Internet Marketer I had a weird and interesting experience with Willie that is still a little hard to explain I sent him an email asking if he was interested in promoting my launch and he replied saying that he was and he also added that he can recruit thousands of affiliates for me as well as he also does a JV brokering service So of course I said that would be great So I set him up with all the relevant links and everything and then the next day he referred one person and I have not heard from him since I really don’t know what happened, it was very strange I sent him numerous emails and contacted his support desk I even sent him a couple of PM’s on the warrior forum but no reply at all So I had a very short and sweet experience with Willie Crawford and I am still a tad confused about it all Then there was Michael Cheney Now Michael was by far the most helpful person I got in touch with I was SOOO close to getting Michael on board But even though he didn’t become a JV partner he was extremely nice and took the time to review my entire product for free He also gave me great feedback that he put time and thought into which I greatly appreciated Michael said my content was great and I obviously knew what I was talking about The problem he had was the video presentation of it He told me the videos themselves needed more work, the content was fine but the way I delivered needed improvement Things such as more pictures and diagrams on the slides and using the highlighting pen when talking Most of my slides were just dot points and I would go through and explain each one He told me I needed to be more flashy and visually appealing The little things that make products stand above the rest At that time John Reese had just released his Traffic Secrets 2.0 course and Michael told me that I was competing with guys like that and John had just released his video course with fancy green screens which looked liked Hollywood production quality So because of that factor I couldn’t get Michael on board but I am very thankful for his advice and feedback and the time he took to personally respond to me and go through my course Chapter Five The Pre-Launch Phase It was time to start the pre-launch phase I started this approximately weeks prior to launch I would like to test out doing a smaller pre-launch phase starting closer to the actual launch date but I wanted to give it plenty of time since it was a high ticket item So I really wanted to generate that buzz and anticipation How the pre-launch phase works is that you start to give away free information leading up to the launch date This is to get people interested in what you have to offer and build excitement as the launch date approaches You also use this time to build an interested list and you are emailing your list throughout this entire process I recorded videos that I would give away for free as part of the pre-launch process It is important that your free material is good because you want people to get interested and want more If your free material is useless then no one is going to care So it’s important that your free material actually contains helpful useful content that people can use That way they will look out for your next free video or report and they will also think to themselves Man this stuff is really good and he is giving it away for free, just image what his paid stuff is going to be like! I released my first two videos at the same time about weeks from the actual launch date How it worked was my first video gave away great content and at the end it I talked about another secret in the make money niche and if they wanted to know what it was they had to put their name and email in the opt-in box below and they would be taken directly to the second video So all I did was upload the video and put it on the main page with an opt-in box at the bottom When people put their info in the opt-in box the page redirected to another page that had the second video on it I used 1shoppingcart’s auto responder and I turned opt-in verification off The main reason I done this was because both Frank Kern and John Reese didn’t have opt-in verification turned on for their launches After the page was uploaded and working I sent an email to all my affiliates telling them that I had released the first video and gave them the link to direct all their traffic to The cool thing was that my affiliates had already started building blogs, websites, squidoo lens and other social media pages promoting my launch and they were doing really well in the search engines I also used a service called Traffic Geyser to blast out my videos all over the Internet in various different formats I also encouraged my affiliates to the same So that started to bring in a lot of opt-ins as more and more people saw my videos I didn’t want to email them too much too soon I sent one email during that week just thanking them for watching and to look out as I had more free content on the way A week later I released the 3rd video in my free series I done the exact same thing as I did with the first two videos I blasted them out using Traffic Geyser and emailed all my affiliates I also announced the official launch date which was 12 NOON, Monday 1st September and added a countdown timer to the main page It was a free countdown script that I just searched Google to find To create a bit more buzz and excitement I had added bonus videos One in particular I called the $90,000.00 a month bonus video This video described the process of taking everything you learned from the Internet Marketing Uncut course and applying it so you would have a highly successful website then flipping that website for a massive profit That is actually a very effective method of making a lot of money very quickly but one of the biggest problems people face is they don’t know how to create sites that generate lots of traffic and revenue Internet Marketing Uncut solves that problem so it was a perfect bonus Now with this bonus I used a tactic called scarcity One of the free videos focused on this one bonus, listing all the benefits and using big numbers to get people excited Then I announced that this amazing bonus was only going to be available within the first 24 hours of the launch So people had to buy on the first day if they wanted access to the special $90,000 a month bonus In that video I also announced the price Now since it was a high ticket item it can be a bit tricky announcing the price without scaring people off So I used a tactic I learned from Jeff Walker I stacked a heap of bigger numbers above the actual price Let me explain In the video I talk about the potential and value of the course I talk about making $1000’s a month plus the $90,000 a month bonus and then I reveal the price So it looks like this: $90,0000 $20,000 $1997 It makes the price look relatively small So that was a nice and subtle way to introduce the high price Something that I done during the pre-launch phase that I should of done more of and I highly suggest you is an interview Now I only done one but I really should of done as many as possible Interviews are great because you have the opportunity to build rapport with the listener and let them get to know you a bit It builds trust and credibility and puts a human element to the whole launch process It just makes people feel more comfortable with you and at ease I done an interview with a guy named Jonny Andrews who is a great guy and was a lot of fun We done the interview over Skype which caused a few audio quality problems but apart from that is was fine The interview was great, it lasted for just over an hour and we provided a lot of great content I actually had to stay up until midnight to the interview because of the time difference but it was no big deal Jonny posted it on his blog and it got a lot of positive comments and also got him a few affiliate sales Looking back I should of done a lot more of these types of things as it really boosts your credibility I would suggest trying to get people to interview you even if they don’t want to JV with you Maybe that’s what I should of asked Jason Moffat to ;) But the interview was great and I used it as an extra piece of free material to send to my list before the launch Jonny also let other affiliates use the interview as part of their promotional efforts which was cool of him There was also a thread created in the Warrior Forum asking if anyone had heard of me or my product before This was great because it showed people were talking and were taking notice I got some good replies from people who knew me Once I saw that thread I emailed my affiliates directing them to post positive comments there This somewhat backfired on me a bit as a couple of people blatantly spammed the thread which of course got people angry so then they started commenting negatively about me and my product However I had a couple of educated affiliates who backed the product Then there was a bit of a debate about the price, a couple of people in particular believed it was too high and people started arguing back and forth Although this may of seemed like a bad thing it was actually a good thing People love controversy, so my thread was getting a lot of attention and with all the comments made it was sitting at the top of the list with the most replies And what people at forums, they look for the most popular threads first So that thread had a lot of views and a lot of people would of heard about my launch and checked it out because of that thread To just recap I released the last two videos of my free video series in the final week before the launch plus the interview I done with Jonny Andrews During this time I was emailing two sets of lists The potential customers and my affiliates You always have to keep repeating your launch date to both lists so they don’t forget it You are emailing your affiliates reminding them to mail out to their lists and keep promoting One important thing you must is provide email copy for them to simply copy and paste So you need to write up promo emails for your affiliates to use, this makes it super easy for them to promote If all they need to is copy and paste an email then they will most likely it As most people are lazy and they can’t be bothered thinking up different email promos so if you write them for them then it makes it a lot easier and they are more likely to promote for you When you are emailing the potential customers you are just keeping them updated on what is going on and making sure they are aware of the launch date Also one thing I forgot to mention is that this was only a day launch So you need to stress to your list that the product is only going to be available for days then it will be taken off the market During the last week of the pre-launch I emailed my list times telling them about the last two videos and the interview I emailed twice over the weekend before the Monday launch just reminding them that the launch was on at 12 noon and that the $90k a month bonus was only available for the first 24 hours Chapter Six Affiliate Competiveness One thing that happened during the launch that I would probably change was my affiliates were all creating packages to outdo each other Which is good and something that you want except I allowed cash back offers A cash back offer is where the affiliate will give the customer cash back if they purchase through their affiliate link They can this by paying a percentage of their commission Since this was a high ticket item and the affiliates commission was almost $1000 per sale affiliates could offer a significant discount I believe the highest discount I saw was $800 cash back I would probably put a limit on the cash back offers or simply not allow them in the future I felt it may of de-valued my product somewhat and it wasn’t fair for affiliates as I did get a few complaints from people saying they have no chance to compete when others are offering such large cash back offers So looking back that is definitely something I would change Another interesting thing that happened was that my product was getting shared around illegally through a warez type site Now this was a total shock to see my entire program listed on some forum for anyone to just download especially before I had even launched it A partner of mine actually pointed this out to me and we had the site shut down I have to be honest it is a really weird feeling to see people rip off your own product I always assumed it happened but it’s a whole new ball game when you see your own product up there In a way it was flattering to see all these people wanting to get your product but the fact that I had put in months of work to create it and people would just steal it is plain wrong Chapter Seven The Launch Launch day was an amazing day At this point I couldn’t really anything else but sit back and let it happen All the work had already been done The anticipation, the hype, the buzz had all been building to this point All the testing had been done, the sales page was written the payment links had been tested and I was ready to go live as soon as the clock hit 12 NOON The official launch was 12 Noon Monday 1st of September, USA time This was actually 2AM Tuesday 2nd of September for me But I didn’t mind, it was worth staying up for I sent an email out with one hour to go simply saying there is one hour until we launch and then I sent another email out about mins after we launched saying that we were now live I stayed up for a couple of hours and after the sales started to roll in and everything was working without a hitch I went to bed In the first day I made a little over 150 sales Towards the end of the day I sent out an email reminding people that the 90k a month bonus was only available for the first 24 hours and was going to be removed from the page All was well, I was extremely happy I didn’t care if I didn’t sell another copy all week as far as I was concerned it was a success A couple of days before I launched it was pointed to me that the 1st of September was Labour Day in America so it was a public holiday It was too late to change the launch date but I was extremely nervous that no one would purchase because no one would be in front of their computers Luckily that wasn’t the case and people still ordered but to be honest I thought that might have been a massive disaster But it did provide a good reason for me and my affiliates to mail out again I sent out a message along the lines of Whoops I screwed up, being in Australia I didn’t know about the public holiday in America so since it was my fault I am extending the 90k bonus an extra 24 hours I probably shouldn’t of extended it because then it is just seen as a marketing trick The only reason I did extend it was because of the holiday but it didn’t seem to affect sales anyway Maybe if it dramatically affected sales then I should of done it but the majority of people who wanted made sure they got it on the Monday Sales slowed significantly the second day as I anticipated they would But I had a plan to spike sales back up The way these type of launches go is that the majority of sales come in on the first day and the last day They tend to slow right down during the middle but spike right at the ends So I decided to announce something during the middle of the week to increase sales What I announced was a payment plan As a lot of people who wanted the course couldn’t afford the $1997 price tag but they could afford to pay in instalments So on the Wednesday I announced the part payment plan This was also another great reason for me and my affiliates to mail out again This saw a large spike in sales as everyone who was on the fence or was struggling to pay the full price jumped on board Things slowed right down again during this time I didn’t email my list as I didn’t want to bombard them They had been getting a lot of emails from me lately so I would give them a break as I was about to hammer them again in the last 24 hours of the launch The launch ended on Sunday the 7th at Midnight The 24 hours leading up to that I sent emails telling my list that it was closing at midnight and being taken off the market for good My affiliates also sent out during this time There was a mad rush towards the end until I closed the doors at Midnight on the 7th It was actually 2pm in the afternoon on Monday for me so it was much easier than staying up until in the morning The final day saw another spike in sales, not quite as much as the first day but still a significant amount At the end of it all I came away with 302 sales of Internet Marketing Uncut which earned me $603,094.00 Conclusion So that is my story That is what I done and how I done it I hope you have enjoyed it and been able to take something from it It can seem like a big daunting stressful task but it is well worth it in the end I hope I have been able to open some eyes and inspire people to the same Making money online is an incredibly opportunity that we are lucky enough to enjoy We are in a rare time in
