Có nhiều loại thép được sử dụng trong công nghiệp. Trong kết cấu thép máy trục sử dụng chủ yếu là thép kết cấu ( Structural steel ). Trên thị trường VN có nhiều nguồn thép từ các nước khác nhau, do đó cần phải hiểu biết rộng hơn chứ không chỉ riêng thép VN hay thép Nga.
