• Son Doong cave (in Vietnamese: Hang Sơn Đng, meaning Mountain River Cave) is a cave in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park.

- The cave was found by a local man named Hồ Khanh (X) in 1991 - was made known to the public by a group of British scientists in 2009

• Twice the size of the current record.

In 1999 scientists from the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Centre also

conducted zoological and botanical surveys in the Ke Bang area
