Capital punishment, agree or disagree? Since the dawn of human civilization, the issue of reducing crime rate has been promoted to be the primary factor contributing to the stable development of a society. As regard to the effective measures to control crime rate, while many people reckon execution as a vital method to maintain a low number of criminal acts, I am actually of the belief that this type of punishment is not necessary and even results in catastrophic consequence. It is first argued that only with the appearance of capital punishment can the would-be criminals be deterred from committing serious crimes. Some people believe in the likelihood that so obsessed with being executed are the male factors that they might be discouraged from going against the ethical virtues. However, can death penalty have threatening effects on those whose cruelty is inherent and show no reluctance to break any regulations and laws? The fact is that there is no brighter picture in countries which implement capital punishment severely. Nor can the threat of execution bend the behavior and thinking of the habitual criminals and cruel male factors. The existence of death penalty, eventually, is not effective to target these serious crimes. Another rationale is that it would be fair for those offenses such as murderers to pay for this excruciating acts and that the victim’s family may show resentment if the criminal are not executed. Nevertheless, it is undeniable that there exist many circumstances in which the innocent are accused of serious crimes. It is not common in the past that many people were found innocent after being hanged. How can this kind of penalty label itself as bringing fairness when is claims the lives of people who actually do not commit such critical crimes? The fact is that only by keeping these accused alive can the have the opportunities to prove their innocence, guaranteeing fairness in our society. Besides, can the act of claiming others’ lives compensate the loss of victim’s family? It is more likely that bestowing upon these offenses the chances to live may ensure their rehabilitation, from which our society can be regarded as humane and altruistic. In conclusion, I am in favor of the demolition of capital punishment in the expectation in avoiding catastrophic results it may evoke and the belief in a more civilized One solution to decline in moral values in today’s world would be for men and women to return to their traditional roles. To what extent do you agree of disagree? Undoubtedly, there has been an alarming decrease in ethical values in today’s world. Maybe by dint of supposing that the crucial reason is changes of our society in recent years, some people think that one of effective remedies is for men and women to return to their traditional roles. I strongly oppose this point of view for some reasons. It is first, believed that no sooner have women come back to the traditional role than they dedecate their whole time to their family and well take charge of their hallowed mission of raising children and making a happy home. However, can children be better brought up and moral decline be avoided as some suppose? The fact is men, who have to shoulder the onerous duty as a bread – winner are likely to experience stress and as a result, violence and aggressive behaviors are inevitable while some women with brilliant talent rarely have chance to prove their abilities and devote their whole lives to the development of the society. Moreover, when establishing a reasonable living standards and the education of children require two incomes, hardly can men exclusively afford, especially under a lot of pressure of this cut – throat world. It is undeniable that by letting women take over the modern role, standing on the equal footing as men, not only can they seize the oppotunities to expand knowledge and practice skills to share with children but they can also understand man’s strenousness to keep their families in peace. Another reason in favor of the above-mentioned idea is the loss of moral compass in both men and women when their mind is dominated by economic concerns. Were this policy to be implemented, the world of emotion among family members is centered and heightened and therefore, those seductions are suppressed. Nevertheless, is it efficient when the issue whether the moral value in today’s world is on the wane remains open question for debate. In fact, the old values are even sometimes prove to be detrimental for the social development, say, the bias and stigmatizations against women which stifle their calibres and talents. With the emergence of new western ideas and the birth of young generations in the globalization stage, some moral value is totterring in the verge of collapse under pressure of the increasingly progressive critism, and hence, such a policy to force people to back to the old day seems to be unjustified. In addition, the current roles of men and women are inevitable to adapt to the requirements of modern society and there is no reason for us to work against them. Facts have shown that women now with better education are good at teaching children, even without men as in single mother families while in the past, behind an intact home was the inequitable treatments for children and violence in silence for women. In summary, I want to assert that it is better knowledge and fair law that preserves moral value, not through this policy. Only in people’s proper awareness can ethical values be respected and brought into play. Men or women hold the more important in raising children? Undoubtedly, there are not many problems in our modern society which are as debatable as the issue whether women or men play a more vital role in the mission of raising children. While some people hold the belief that women make better parents than men, others claim that men are just as good as women at parenting. From my point of view, a child needs equal care and responsibility from both mother and father to develop comprehensively. In the first place, people who support the argument that women have the more significant role in raising children have their points in arguing that women are undeniably capable of providing better health care to their children. That fact that by dint of their inborn merits, women are inclined to dedicatedly taking care of their kids, performing multiple tasks from cooking meals with sufficient nutrition to preparing their beds for them to sleep. However, it is irrefutable that father also contribute to the physical development of children. For instance, many kids have nurtured their passion for sports and engage themselves in the habit of frequent participation in physical activities, which is originated from small games or sports lessons with their dads. It is highly likely that those children who receive equal attention from their parents tend to develop more properly and comprehensively. From the educational point of view, it can be argued that only women can patiently teach their children from primary tasks like counting and adding to moral lessons and soft skills. It is undeniable that hardly can men patiently sit with their kids for hours teaching them such small tasks while they still have a huge load of work to do. Nevertheless, social studies also reveal that no sooner do the children grow up than they need their father’s help in elaborate Mathematical exercises or advice them in the method of learning scientific subjects. In addition, children whose fathers are of great proficiency and are respected by others tend to view their father as mirrors to endeavor and put prodigious effort to deserve their family legacy. In conclusion, both men and women’s love and attentions are crucial to proper development of children. Although modern societies have opened the opportunities for single parents to raise their children more easily, men and women should pay equal attention and care to their chidren to provide them with the most suitable environment to develop genuinely. Young people are sail to have lost many of traditional values of the older generation. This does not matter, because the old values have no relevance in the modern world. We need to develop a whole new set of values. In what extent do you agree or disagree? Since the dawn of human civilization, people have been always inclined to new idea and values in the expectation of a novel and a better life. However, this trend is also tantamount to the loss of traditional values of the past, especially among younger generation while many people reckon the idea of developing entirely new values. I am actually of the belief that old values also have their own beauty that never fades away. There is an increasing evidence that youngsters are habouring open conceptions about many aspects of life. It is generally accepted that we are now living in a society where juvenile delinquency, cohabitation or unwanted pregnancy are not an uncommon scene, which might be rooted in the young’s obvious attitude towards moral and family values. How can our society genuinely thrive while there are children being abandoned by their teen-moms whose knowledge and experience are insufficient even to take care of themselves, or kids who suffer from depression or psychological shock after their parents’ divorces? Therefore, only by preserving the traditional core virtues can the younger generation guarantee a brighter prospect of a happy family life and a stable development of the entire society. People who are in favor of a whole new set of values might have their points in arguing that never can people keep pace with the staggering movements of the world without eliminating the conceptions of the old mindset. It is undeniable that human beings are inclined to an open and dynamic environment where novel values are appreciated, especially when the world are progressing in the process of globalization. Nevertheless, hardly can the young foster new strategies in economic as well as political field without inheriting the quintessence of the fundamental principles that older generation have accumulated. Now can a country develop stable bereft of the insightful vision of the old, who possess a firm grasp of knowledge and experience. The existence of old values is, thereby, a firm basement from which revolutionary ideas flourish. In conclusion, old values still have a say over the development of our society. Human beings should step up a lot of effort to preserve the quintessence of the past and also create new values to catch up with this fast-changing world Government should not be expected to take sole responsibility for reducing the number of road accidents individuals should share this responsibility. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Undoubtedly, the alarming rate of road accidents in recent years has grabbed the attention the entire society. However, there has not been a consensus over the issue of who should be responsible for easing this problem. While many people hold the belief that the government should solely take charge of executing preventative measures, the others claim that individuals need to share this responsibility. I am strongly convinced by the latter argument for some reasons. It is first argued that only by the subsidy of the authorities are the infrastructure and traffic systems, reducing a significant number of accidents which is originated in poor road conditions and lack of traffic signs. Many people believe that as these activities require a colossal investment which is only afforded by national budget, the government should shoulder the burden of eliminating these cases of road accidents. However, can the investment prove worthwhile if citizens are not responsible for protecting these constructions? A stark example can be seen in the nearly-built roads in Vietnam which undergo fast degradation due to the unacceptable acts of several residents destroying the road to take out materials for the sake of profits. Never can the government’s action contribute to a drop in accident rate bereft of the acknowledgement of preserving the traffic systems from the individuals. Another rationale is that the increasing number of road accidents may be attributed directly to the fact that the traffic regulations are not strict enough. Many people are of the belief that the authorities should reassess and tighten the laws to reduce traffic crashes. Nevertheless, the facts have shown proved that hardly can this policy be effective in the cases of those who are chronically be little of obeying the rules. After more than 4 years of implementing the regulation that all motorbike drivers must wear helmets when entering the traffic system, it is not an uncommon scene, ironically, that two or three people without helmets are driving at extremely high speed in Vietnamese roads. From these circumstances, it is irrefutable that individuals should take the responsibility of obeying traffic regulations and, thereby, put themselves in a stronger position to cut road accidents, enhancing their life’s security. In conclusion, although there are certain problems which can only be tackled by the authorities, so burden are their work of taking charge of too many sectors that accident alone. The individuals should put their own effort into solving this issue, which may ease government’s burden ND protected themselves as well. Some people claim using tobacco has brought several social problems and smoking should be banned. To what extent do you agree or disagree? There is growing evidence that the number of people suffering from smoke-related problems is escalating to an alarming extent. To make the issue even more serious, a number of social problems are proved to be attributed directly to smoking. While many people are reluctant to take serious actions of prohibiting the usage of tobacco, I am actually in favor of implement immediate measures to eradicate this devil. It is first argued that tobacco has its own validity in enhancing the work efficacy and easing people mounting stress. Scientific studies have shown that people who take a moderate amount of cigarettes are likely to perform better in essential tasks like problems solving or figures analyzing. However, the fact is that hardly can human resists the temptation of excessive consumerism of tobacco, which subsequently turns them into cigarette-addictors and deteriorates their health in long term. It is undeniable that inside each cigarette exist certain amounts of extremely poisonous substances, which is the culprit of myriad types of grave diseases like lung cancer. Besides, there are many safer and more effective ways to stimulate work capacity such as creating a suitable working environment with no external disturbances or cultivating workers’ concentrating ability. It is highly likely that no sooner do people take optimal use of these alternative measures than their work efficacy is boosted with their life remaining healthy. Another rationale is that the collapse of tobacco industry may turn numerous workers into unemployed people, causing indispensable loss to the economy. Nevertheless, it is irrefutable that the rampant existence of cigarette will results in much more catastrophic issues, causing workers’ health degradation and contributing to the ever-increasing level of social evils. It is widely acknowledged that smoking is the main culprit of serious respiratory disorders, destroying smokers’ health and reducing their labour capacity as a consequence. Moreover, younger smokers, especially juveniles are highly likely be lured into other temptations like alcohol or heroin, which may seriously degrade our young generation. In comparison with these devastating consequences, the economic loss due to the collapse of tobacco industry will be insignificant. In conclusion, the existence of tobacco in our society has definitely pose numerous extremely adverse effects on people’s health and on the community as a whole. Strict method should be implemented immediately to eliminate the impacts of this demon, guaranteeing a better quality of life for human beings. Zoo and animals’ rights? There might not exist more problems in the world that are as debatable as the issue whether keeping animals in zoos is necessary or not. While some people hold the belief that this activity may violate animal’s rights, others see it as acceptable and even of crucial importance to human beings as well as animals themselves. I am totally convinced by the latter argument for some reasons. In the first place, people who are opponents of the activities may have their points in arguing that trapping those wild animals in the zoos is tantamount to depriving them of their rights of freedom. It is irrefutable that many species are inclined to develop most properly in their natural habitats and that coercing them to live in artificial ones proves to be a culprit of curbing their developments. However, the fact is that animals have to struggle with other species for food, clean water and other basic needs in their wild environment. It is, thereby, irrefutable that by dint virtue of their profound knowledge about animals, the staffs working for the zoos are more likely to provide better care for them, which contributes to more significant improvements in animals’ health. It is argued that it may be totally unfair for the animals when they are viewed as a tool to entertain people and as a money-making machine for the organizers of the zoos. Nevertheless, I am actually in favor of numerous positive effects of this activity. Not only do these wild animals play a crucial role in easing human beings’ stress, which might due to the fact that their lives are trapped in glass and concrete of the sky-scrappers and hardly have opportunities to see the natural habitats in their own eyes, these zoos are also of educational values. It is undeniable that no sooner so some students expose to the wild animals than they nurture their love for the environment and may grow up to be the outstanding environmentalists in the future, putting their prodigious efforts to protect animals’ rights. In addition, the revenue created from this policy can also ease government’s burden in preserving wild animals and protecting the entire ecosystem as a whole. In conclusion, although zoos are seen as an unsatisfying alternative to natural environment, the activity of keeping animals in the zoos has it own undeniable validities. However, human-beings should step up a lot of efforts to implement more sanctions to protect wild animals and the balance of our natural world, which is of crucial importance to the existence of every creature on earth. As there is increasing unemployment in the world, while at the same time those who have jobs are working harder and harder. It would be better to have a four – day working week for everyone, and so to create more jobs. In what extent do you agree or disagree? Obviously, unemployment is a thorny problem which baffles governments all over the world. To deal with this issue, some people suggest that in order to create jobs for the unemployed and disminish the . news? Would it be better if more good news was reported? Discuss.
