Northeast: Nam Dinh West, South: Thanh Hoa Southeast: the Gulf of Tonkin In Ninh Binh, there are city and district( 121 communes, 17 wards, towns): Ninh Binh city Tam Diep city Gia Vien district Hoa Lu district Kim Son district Nho Quan district Yen Khanh district Yen Mo district Area: 1,400 km² Population: 898,459 people( 2009) Ninh Binh was the first imperial capital of Vietnam from 968 to 1010 under the Dinh, Le and Ly dynasties History: In 968, King Dinh Tien Hoang throne capital at Hoa Lu and renamed Truong Chau into Truong An In 1010 Ly Thai To moved the capital to Thang Long, and Ninh Binh was in Truong An goverment By the end of the Ly dynasty, it was called as Dai Hoang Giang By the beginning of Tran dynasty, it changed to Truong Yen In 1397( King Tran Thuan Tong), changed Truong Yen to Thien Quan When belonging to Ming dynasty, recalled Truong Yen( belonged to the Kien Binh) In 1469, King Le Thanh Tong divided Truong Yen into Truong Yen and Thien Quan( belonged to the Son Nam) King Le Trung Hung called Thanh Hoa outside Tay Son Age and the beginning of Nguyen dynasty, Thanh Hoa outside included Truong Yen( Yen Khang, Yen Mo, Gia Vien) and Thien Quan( Yen Hoa, Phung Hoa, Lac Tho) In 1806, changed Thanh Hoa outside to Thanh Binh In 1822, changed to Ninh Binh In 1829, added a new district- Kim Son In 1831, called as Ninh Binh province In Dong Khanh generation didn’t change In the beginning of Thanh Thai cut Lac Yen district into Hoa Binh province On 27th December 1975, Ninh Binh consolidated with Nam Dinh and Ha Nam into Ha Nam Ninh province and then re-established on 12th August 1991 Ninh Binh included town: Ninh Binh, Tam Diep and district: Gia Vien, Hoa Lu, Hoang Long, Kim Son, Tam Diep On 21th November 1993, Hoang Long district renamed to Nho Quan district On 4th July 1994, Tam Diep district renamed to Yen Mo and re-established Yen Khanh district from 10 communes of old Tam Diep district and communes of Kim Son district On 7th February 2007, Ninh Binh town became Ninh Binh city On 6th April 2015, Tam Diep town became Tam Diep city Economy: Ninh Binh is where continued economic exchanges and cultural exchanges between the Red River Delta region with North Central, between the northern plains to the mountainous northwest Highlights strength of Ninh Binh is the industry of building materials and tourism -Industry Ninh Binh has the potential and strength development of industry of buiding materials with many cement production plant Nowaday, Ninh Binh has industrial zones: Gian Khau, Khanh Phu, Tam Diep I, Tam Diep II, Phuc Son, Khanh Cu, Kim Son Ninh Binh also has 22 industrial parks with an area of 880 -Agriculture Ninh Binh has the advantage of developing the diverse compositions agriculture Intensive agricultural regions of the province: the Dong Giao farms specialize industrial crops such as scented pineapple, the Kim Son plant seagrass to make sedge mat, handicrafts, tiger prawns, seafood, Ninh Phuc flowwer village, Ninh Son grow flowwer and vegetable - Trade and Services Ninh Binh is located at the convergence of inter-regional transportation is very convenient for the development of cargo traffic to other recource is the langest of Ninh Binh With the sizable limestone moutains, running northwest-southeast, via Nho Quan and Gia Vien, Hoa Lu and Tam Diep, Yen Mo east to the sea, more than 40 km long On 12000 area, reserves of tens of billions of cubic meters of limestone and dolomite tens of millions of tons This is the major raw material source for the manufacture of cement and building material and a number of other chemicals * Clay resources: Distribution scattered low hills Yen Son commune, Yen Binh, Gia Vien District, Yen Mo, used to produce bricks and tiles and Mineral water resources
