Bài làm : Trong các con vật, mỗi con lại có một ưu điểm riêng. Mèo thì bắt chuột, chó để trông nhà, gà trống đánh thức mọi người mỗi sáng, còn trâu lại giúp bác nông dân cày ruộng. Nhà bà em cũng nuôi một chú trâu. Trâu là loài vật em thích nhất. Chú trâu nhà bè trông thật lực lưỡng, khỏe mạnh. Thân chú mập mạp với làn da đen. Cái đầu to luôn chúi về phía trước của chú có cái mũi đen xỏ một sợi dây thừng. Hai tai trâu như hai cái lá đa cứ phe phẩy, phe phẩy. Nổi bật trên cái đầu ấy là cặp sừng cong và nhọn hoắt. Đây là vũ khí lợi hại nhất của chú. Bình thường hiền lành là thế nhưng khi có điều gì tức giận chú lại giương cặp sừng nhọn hoắt ra khiến đối thủ khiếp sợ. Bốn cái chân rắn chắc đỡ lấy thân hình nặng nề rất có ích mỗi khi cày ruộng. Cái đuôi dài suốt ngày ngoe nguẩy rất đáng yêu. Trông chú như một lực sĩ vậy. Chú trâu nhà bà cày ruộng rất khỏe. Từ tờ mờ sáng, bác em đã dắt trâu ra đồng. Sau khi mắc ỏe cày vào cổ trâu, bác quất một roi vào thân trâu, dục “Đi”. Chú trâu hiểu ý chậm rãi đi đều đều trên mảnh ruộng. Cái cày cũng ngoan ngoãn đi theo trâu. Trâu đi qua chỗ nào đất cũng tơi xốp hơn giúp bác em gieo mạ dễ dàng. Trâu cày rất chăm chỉ, hăng say. Mặt trời đã lên cao mà trâu và bác em vẫn hì hục làm việc. Đến xế chiều, mảnh ruộng rộng đã được cày xong xuôi. Bác em lấy tay lau mồ hôi trên trán, vuốt ve chú trâu trìu mến. Trâu nghiêng nghiêng đầu nhìn mảnh ruộng như hạnh phúc với thành quả lao động của mình. Bác dắt trâu về nhà, buộc vào chuồng. Em đi theo bà ra cho trâu ăn. Bà cho đầy rơm vào chuồng cho nó ăn suốt đêm. Sau một ngày làm việc mệt mỏi, trâu ăn no nê rồi lại lim dim mắt ngủ. Cứ chợp mắt một chút, chú lại tỉnh, he hé mắt nhìn rồi lại ngủ tiếp trông rất ngộ. Có lần, cu Đức – con của cậu em ru em đi chăn trâu ngoài bờ đê. Ngồi trên lưng trâu ngắm nhìn bờ đê thật tuyệt. Đức chọn một chỗ nhiều cỏ tươi nhất cho trâu ăn. Khi thấy trâu ăn no nê, chúng em dắt trâu xuống đê tắm rửa, uống nước. Lúc người làm đồng về nhà, chúng em cũng dắt trâu về. Nó được ăn no căng bụng, uống nước hả hê. Trông nó lúc này béo múp béo míp trông thật thích mắt. Em rất yêu quý chú trâu nhà ngoại. Nhờ có chú nên những người nông dân như bà nội em được mùa bội thu. Chú là người bạn thân thiết của nông dân Việt Nam. Tôi càng thấm thía câu nói “Con trâu là đầu cơ nghiệp”. LEVEL 2: Water buffalo is the most important animal in my country. Every country in the world has a symbolized animal that differentiates it with other nations. While the Dragon reminds us of the nation of China or the Black Horse which is for sure part of Canadian traditions, people here in Vietnam are highly appreciative of the water buffalo and picture it as the national most important animal. Long ago, it has become part of the agricultural civilization in my country as well as our cultural values. First of all, people in other countries can understand more about the Vietnamese agricultural civilization through the water buffalo. Cultivation of wet rice had become our national major economic activity for thousands of years and the image of a water buffalo standing behind a farmer has also been familiarized with every Vietnamese people. On the paddy field, buffaloes help the peasants lessen the burden of their strenuous farm work. At home, they serve as close friends and great property of the farmers. Our ancestors depicted many images of the water buffalo on stone walls and on ancient musical instruments which nowadays elaborate our culture in the prehistoric time. Thus, besides farmers, the water buffalo has become part of the agriculture civilization in my country. Furthermore, the water buffalo represents the best virtues of Vietnamese people. Day in and day out, the water buffalo works hard on the fields, resisting the weather conditions to get their jobs done well. It has an uncanny knack in plowing the topsoil, turning barren soil into rich one. The water buffalo pursues their jobs irrespective of bitter cold or scorching heat on the paddy field. Its endurance and persistence clearly emblem our farmers perseverance and diligence at work. I remember in 2003 when SEA Games, a major sporting event in South East Asia was hosted by my country. Having acknowledged of the important and symbolic role of the water buffalo in Vietnamese culture, we decided to choose the “golden water buffalo” to be the mascot of this big event, hoping to reach and earn a place in the heart of every people in the region as well as all over the world. Therefore, by making people be curious about the symbol of the event, they would be more aware of Vietnam, a country of friendliness and openness. Admittedly, there are many animals that are more eye-catching than the water buffalo in my country. Additionally many countries in the world also utilize water buffaloes in their cultivation. I still think that the water buffalo is the most important animal and is best symbolic animal in my country, from our agricultural civilization, virtues, to our valuable traditions.  .
