Lesson 1 – Part 1, 2, 3 I. Objectives : By the end of this lesson, Students will be able to greet someone formally and develop Speaking and Listening skill. II. Preparing methods : - Communicative method. - Techniques: + Work in pairs + Work in groups, discuss. + Ask and answer. III. Teac hing aids : - Posters, flashcards, recordings. IV. Languages focus :  Vocabulary: morning, afternoon, evening.  Sentence patterns:  Good morning, Miss Hien V. Procedures :s 1. Class organization . 2. New lesson: A. Warm – up: - T and Ps introduce themselves. B. Look, listen and repeat. *Pre-task: - T asks Ps identify the teacher and the pupils. - T tell Ps: You are going to look at the dialogue, listen to the recording and repeat the dialogue between Miss Hien and the pupils. * While- task: - T plays the recording. - Ps listen and read the line in the dialogue with recording. - T plays the recording again. - Ps repeat each line of the dialogue a few times. - T divides the class into two groups. Ps repeat the step and swap their parts. - T corrects typical pronunciation error. * Post- task: - T asks a few questions to ensure Ps’ comprehension of the language. - The whole class repeat both the question and the answer in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. C. Look and say. * Pre- task: - T asks Ps to identify the people in each picture on Page 6. T monitors. - T calls on some pairs of pupils to demonstrate at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments. * Post- task: - T makes a few questions to check Ps’ comprehension of the language. D. Talk. * Pre- task: - T asks Ps to identify the people in each picture on Page 7. - Ps answer: Picture a: Mrs Brown and Mrs Green; Picture b: Mr Loc , Quan and Linda; Picture c: Mr Brown and Mr Green and Picture d: Mss Hien and some Ps sitting on the bus). - T tells Ps: You are going to practise greeting and responding to greetings appropriately, using good morning, good afternoon, good evening and goodbye. * While- task: - T asks Ps to work in pair, one P says the greetings and the other the responses. - Ps work in pair. T monitors. - T asks Ps to role play the greetings and the responese. - T calls on some pairs to perform the task at front of the class. * Post- task: - T asks the whole class repeat all the greetings and the responese to reinforce their pronunciation. 3 . Follow – up: - T asks Ps to work in pairs to practise greeting and responding to greetings according to each part of the day 4 . Homelink: Ps practise practise greeting and responding to formal or informal greetings. 5 . Teac hing aids : - Posters, flashcards, recordings. - The large piece of paper for the dialogues on Page 8. IV. Languages focus :  Vocabulary:  Phonics: morning afternoon V. Procedures : 1. Class organization. 2. New lesson: A. Warm – up: - Ps play the Slap the Board game, using flash cards of good morning, good afternoon, good evening and goodnight/goodbye B. Listen and repeat *Pre-task - T draws P’s attention to the sound of the letters ng as in morning and that of the letter n as in afternoon. - T tells Ps to listen and pronounce these sound correctly. - Ps look at the dialogues and pronounce the focused sounds a few times as a model. * While- task: - Ps listen and repeat the focused sounds with the recording. - T plays the recording again. - Ps repeat each line of the chant a few times. - T calls on some Ps to recite the dialogues. T corrects mistakes necessary. * Post- task: - T asks the whole class recite the dialogues to reinforce the prounciation. C. Listen and number . * Pre- task: - T helps Ps to identify the part of the day in each picture. Teacher: Le Thi Tuyet Linh School year: 2013 - 2014 Le Van Tam primary school Lesson plan: Tieng Anh 4 - Ps answer: Picture a: morning, Picture b: afternoon, Picture c: evening, Picture d: night. - T tells Ps: you are going to four dialogues and number the correct pictures. * While- task: - T plays the recording for Ps. - Ps listen as they look closely at the pictures in their book. - T plays the recording again. - Ps listen and number the correct pictures. - T chooses one or two pupils to share their answer with their classmates. - T replays the recording. - Ps trade their answers in pairs or groups for correction. - T gives answwers: a. 1 b. 3 c. 4 d. 2 * Post- task: - T asks some questions to check Ps’ comprehension of the text. D. Read and tick. * Pre- task: - T asks Ps to identify part of each day in the pictures. - T asks Ps to readthe dialogues tick the correct pictures. * While- task: - Ps do the task individualy. - T monitors the activity. - Ps trade their answers in pairs for the correction. - Ps report their answers in front of class. - T corrects and gives answers: 1. a 2. b * Post- task: - T asks the whole class chorally read the dialogues. 3. Follow – up - Ask Ps to make a table of twp columns and write the words which contain the sound of the letters ng in one column and that of the letter n in the other. Languages focus :  Vocabulary: well, bored, happy, OK  Sentence patterns: How are you? – I’m fine, thanks. V. Procedures : 1. Class organization . 2. New lesson: A. Warm – up: - Ask Ps to read the tow dialogues on Page 8 in order to check their pronounciation of the sound of the letters ng and that of the letter n. B. Listen and repeat *Pre-task: - T tells Ps: You are going to listen to and repeat the dialogues between Mr Robot and Tom. - T teaches the word bored and explain its meaning. * While- task: - Ps listen and read the dialogue with recording. - T plays the recording again, pausing after each line for Ps to repeat. - T divides class into two groups. - Ps repeat the step following in group. * Post- task: - T asks the whole class to repeat the dialogue to reinforce the prounciation with recording. C. Look and say. * Pre- task: - T asks Ps to look at the pictures on Page 10. - T tells Ps: You are going to practise answering the question How are you? in four different situations. Write. * Pre- task: - T tells Ps: You are going to complete the bubbles, using the expressions (good evening, good afternoon) in the yellow boxes. - T gets Ps to identify each part of the day it is each picture. * While- task: - Ps read and complete the task individually. - T monitors the activity. - Pairwork: Ps trade their answers in pair for the correction. - Ps report their answers in front of class. - T corrects and gives answers: a. – Good evening b. – Good afternoon – Good evening – Good afternoon * Post- task: - The whole class repeat all the sentences to reinforce their pronunciation. 3. Look, listen and repeat. *Pre-task: - T introduces to Ps that the girls in the picture are Linda and Akio and they are at a big international chess compition for pupils in Ha Noi - T tell Ps: You are going to look at the dialogue, listen to the recording and repeat the dialogue between Linda and Akio. * While- task: - T plays the recording. - Ps listen and read the line in the dialogue with recording. - T plays the recording again. - Ps repeat each line of the dialogue a few times. - T divides the class into two groups.
