Review the Answer Type. • Step 2: Research the topic using approved, reliable resources (examples listed below.) • Step 3: Answer the question in the first box. • Step 4: Check below the first box if you were able to answer the question directly in the first sentence. • Step 5: Expand upon the answer to the question by providing more details in the second box. • Step 6: Provide at least one of your approved resources. Answer Instance – First-Sentence Answer 5 • Directly answer the question as concisely as possible. • No Fluff • No lead in prepositional phrases • Check the box that says you were able to provide a direct answer the question. First-Sentence Answer First Box - The most important information goes at the beginning of the answer. It’s either a First Sentence Answer, a First Box Answer or a Succinct Summary Answer. Supporting Information - Enhance and build on the first box with information from your sources that is relevant to and explains or expands upon the information in the first box. Relevant, But Not Essential Inverted Answer Pyramid Answer Instance – First-Box Answer 6 First Box - The most important information goes at the beginning of the answer. It’s either a First Sentence Answer, a First Box Answer or a Succinct Summary Answer.
