Aims: Reading a text about UFOs for details to complete the notes. B. Objective: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to know more about UFOs and other information about them C.Language content: * Vocabulary: spacecraft evidence capture claim meteor alien device D. Teaching aids: Textbook, , cassette, computer, projector E.Ways of working: T- whole class, pair work, group work, individual work. F. Anticipated problem: Filling wrong some words in the text. II. Procedure: Stage Teacher's activities Student's activities Warm up ( 5 minutes) * Guessing words: - Have Ss guess three words. - Give ss the number of the letters of each word and give the definition so that ss can guess the words 1 This word has 12 letters. It is the opposite of identified 2 This word has 6 letters. It means moving throught the air as a bird does 3 This word has 7 letters. It is in form . Objects Pre - reading (10 minutes) * Chatting: - Show the pictures on page 83 to the Ss and ask them some questions about UFOs. • What can you see in the picture ? • What do we call them in Vietnamese ? • Do you know another word for UFOs ? • Do you think they really exist ? Guessing the meaning of the words: - Get Ss to read the text and find the words in the text that have the meanings given in * 2a on page 84: - Ask Ss to work in pair. - Give feedback. III. Complete the notes - Have Ss to do exercise 2b on page 84. - Get Ss to read the text again and complete the notes. They have to work individually then compare with their partners. - Call on some Ss to read aloud their sentences. Can you imagine what the aliens are like ? Are they small or big ? Are they intelligent ? ( If yes ) why do you think so ? Preparation: A. Aims: Practice speaking about Mars and further practice in modal verbs - may, might. B. Objective: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able talkto one another about what they think there might be on Mars, on the moon and on other planets. C.Language content: * Vocabulary: microorganism sparkling trace gemstone creature minerral D. Teaching aids: Textbook, pictures E.Ways of working: T- whole class, pair work , individual work. F. Try to guess and match the drawings with their names. - Number from 1 to 7 from left and right. II. Drill - Use the drawing to drill * Exchange: whats this? This may be water on Mars. 1. What are they? 2. Whats this? 3. What are they? 4. What are they? III. Practice the dialogue - Have students practice the dialogue between Nam and Hung on page 85. - Call on some pairs of students to practice the dialogue. - Correct their pronunciation. - Have all students work in pairs to practice the dialogue. IV.
