Objectives: At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: - identify kinds of food: meat, vegetable, sea food, - talk about food likes & dislikes * Contents: + New words: durian, pork, pea, carrot, cucumber, chicken, pineapple, papaya, spinach. + Grammar: simple present & simple past too / either , so / neither + Skills : listening, speaking, reading & writing II . Teaching aids: - For students: Textbook - For teacher: Textbook, cassette, pictures, sub- boards. III . Procedures: 1. Organization (1): Greeting Total: 2. Check the old lesson (7) 3. New lesson: T & sts ' activities Content 1. Presentation (20') -T: asks- ss: answer - T hangs the pictures of fruits and food on the board and asks students answer the questions: -Ss look at the picture and speak the names of fruits and food that you know. -T writes on the board -T asks Ss to look at the picture and make a list of the fruits/ food which you havent known their English names in Vietnamese? - Ss talk the names of fruits and food that you dont know in Vietnamese. - T presents some new words - T has them read these words. - T checks + Hoa & her aunt went to the market A1/ Listen & read. Then practice with a partner + Have you ever gone to market ? +What do you often buy at the market ? - How many fruits and food have you known in English in the picture? * Vocabulary: - durian (n): sầu riêng - a selection of: la chn - on display: trng by - Pork : thịt lợn - Pea: đậu - Carrot ; cà rốt - cucumber (n): da chuột - Chicken : thịt gà - Pineapple: dứa - Papaya: đu đủ - ripe: chớn yesterday. Can you guess what they bought ? - Sts guess, T ticks * T has sts look at the picture on the page. Then play the tape and ask students to listen it carefully and answer the question what they bought. - Sts listen to the dialogue and check. - Sts listen & repeat after the tape - Sts practise the dialogue in pairs, alternating roles * Teacher can stop at each paragraph of dialogue to explain the new words and structures: - T introduces the structures with "neither" & "either" - Ss rewrite these structures into your notebooks. - T calls on 1 pair to read the dialogue aloud in front of the class - T introduces the structures with "too" & "so" in 2nd part & remembers the structures with "neither" in 3rd part - Sts talk about the kind of vegetables & fruit they like & dislike 2. Teaching aids: Textbook, pictures, sub- boards. III . Procedures: 1. Warm up: ( 3’) Chain game: About food and fruit Example exchange : S1: I like oranges S2: I like oranges and papaya. S3: I like oranges, papaya and durian 2. Check the old lesson (5) 3. New lesson: Time T & sts ' activities Content (10') (20) * Pre reading: -T asks Ss some questions: + Do you always cook meals? + Do you like cooking? + Who often cook for your family? + What do you have to do when cooking meals? - T: lead in to the new lesson - T has sts look at the pictures on the page - T: give the new words - Drill the pronunciation - T has Ss read them these words - T: check by showing at the pictures and ss say the words again. - T introduces the content of the lesson - T: give some questions -Ss: read the text quickly and find the information -SS: give the answer -T: feed back * While reading: - Sts read the text to themselves, answer the questions above - some sts read the text aloud, - Sts answer (a) in pairs - Sts write the menu - T & sts corrects them - Sts do (b) in pairs + Add the missing verbs A3/ Read.
