will enhance the communications abilities of the Cocopah Nation by adding three repeaters (electronic device that allows radio signals to cover longer distances without degradation) along with antennae and cabling to allow an increase in communications abilities These repeaters and the associated cabling and antennae would be mounted on top of existing water towers within the Cocopah Nation This project will install VHF radio units in all emergency response vehicles in the district to allow those response units to communicate when responding to other jurisdictions during mutual aids incidents The radios would be both mobile fixed units and portable units The project includes the installation of the mobile fixed units and charger systems for the portable units All radios would be compliant with current technology and the portable radios would be intrinsically safe units for working in hazardous environments Drexel Heights primarily operates on UHF and this project would allow for VHF radio installation in all emergency response units This project will provide additional resources for the district's technical rescue team, which is needed for specialized situations The project would allow for purchase of various pieces of equipment for rescue in structural collapse, below grade, or confined space incidents Equipment would include cameras, listening devices, hydraulic tools and devices, and shoring and related equipment This project would be a multiple-year project It would be important to this over several years to enable the equipment to be purchased and training to be provided for each function It is unlikely that we could accomplish this entire project in year Therefore, we would phase in the purchasing and related training over several years This project would provide the equipment for radiological detection and monitoring for the Pima hazardous materials response team—South and emergency response units of the Drexel Heights Fire District and Green Valley Fire District Radiological detectors and monitors would be placed on the regional hazardous materials response unit’s vehicle and each of the emergency response units' vehicles from the current county emergency response plan The plan was updated in 2002 Since then, the state exercise was conducted in Santa Cruz County identifying many issues that need to be updated This along with technology advancements, new protocols being developed, and new mutual aid agreements require updates to the county plan The current sister city plan also needs to be updated for a county and municipal all-hazard and multiple-agency response Planning monies will be needed to develop the plan in both English and Spanish and includes a planner and administrative costs The U.S Office of Domestic Preparedness has required each community to establish an exercise schedule, and the community has identified several exercises These exercises include single and multiple agency drills to familiarize employees and maintain proficiency with equipment Binational tabletop drills (simulated emergency scenario sessions), and functional and full-scale exercises are to be conducted Monies will be used to conduct the exercises Additional training is required for this community, including additional ICS-4000 radiation detector training courses, various weapons of mass destruction awareness courses, and hazardous material technician courses The hazardous materials technician course is not authorized by Office of Domestic Preparedness The courses will be available to the entire community to include our counterparts in Mexico We currently have a burn building training facility that needs some improvement so that law enforcement and fire departments can attend training We are currently working with commercial vendors to obtain a tractor trailer or a railcar to be used as training equipment Planning and administrative monies are being requested in this project to obtain clerical assistance in developing and maintaining a community-wide training program A third of the monies required by Santa Cruz County are included in this project Purchase helmets with a ballistic face shield, full body shields, ballistic bunker shield, gas masks, Motorola radio with voice and ear systems, night vision equipment, and a command vehicle with specialized communications for the special tactics and response team Purchase handheld and mobile radios for each deputy and patrol vehicle The purchase of handheld and mobile radios will bring broad and narrow band voice communications capability to Santa Cruz County Sheriff's deputies The project will purchase laptop computers, and needed hardware and software for each of the 35 Santa Cruz Sheriff Office patrol vehicles to connect to the Wi-Fi project being constructed in Santa Cruz County This is trial version www.adultpdf.com $ 29,970 25,000 25,000 200,401 72,742 147,000 Table 16: South Region (Cont’d) Name Trailer for armored carrier Upgrade existing communications vehicle to install interoperable communications system Sierra Vista radio upgrade Local Jurisdiction Reported Purpose Budget Replace outdated communications equipment at medical facilities with multi-channel radios that will permit operation on EMSCOM, CMA, IARS, and EARS radio frequencies There are five health centers and hospitals in Cochise County that use the EMSCOM system The radio equipment is between 10 to 30 years old We propose to upgrade the emergency medical base stations associated with EMSCOM with multichannel radios that will also give the facilities the capability to communicate with onscene incident command or on-scene triage personnel using the CMA, IARS, or EARS frequencies Additionally we propose providing equipment so that the medical facilities can communicate with each other via the CMA radio channel during critical times Support equipment for secure site communications for the special response team to bolster response and recovery capabilities and protect emergency responders $ 150,000 Support equipment for secure site communications for the special response team to bolster and installation of three high-frequency amateur band radios so that we may partner with the local Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services organization's communications technology One high-frequency radio is to be located in the SVPD mobile vehicle command post, another in the public safety communications center, and the last one in the radio amateur radio system command post vehicle This is
