I have been acquainted with Y since 2005 when I was his professor who taught his class and evaluated his graduation paper of bachelor’s degree at the College of Education – Can Tho University. It has been a long time enough for me to know his academic qualification, researching and teaching ability as well as his character and here I give you my candid evaluation. Mr. Y was a diligent student. During his attendance in my courses in his undergraduate years, he had never been absent from even a single class meeting and always submitted his assignments on time. He often enthusiastically offered constructive ideas for lectures and discussions. In addition, Mr. Y was a good self-studying student. He always read more than the number of the books required and tries to solve himself academic problems before having to consult his professors. He also received high scores in all of his classes. Moreover, Mr. Y was also a good monitor and good co-operating student. He participated in many activities in the college such as student shows, Olympiad exams. Hence, it was no surprise to me that he got an offer of being a lecturer in the Department of Information Technology at The College of Education in Can Tho University after graduating. Not only has Nguyen Van Y proved to be a young scientist who has much potentiality in his field but also revealed himself as a person with strong motivation towards reaching his professional goal, which is to be a successful researcher and instructor. He has spent much time to enrich his knowledge and lectures as well as improve his teaching skills by reading many books on his major field. Furthermore, Mr. Y often emails me and his other professors to consult us about tough and thoughtful problems he encounters. This great effort makes him more and more mature in researching and teaching. Additionally, Mr. Y has three academic articles on computer science in which there is one of these I was a co-author. In terms of personality, he is a candid, sober, and kind man. In addition, he is open to new things and he is also very reliable. With his impressive qualities as I mentioned above, I strongly support his wishes to further his education at your PhD program and recommend him in the strongest term. I hope that I will meet Mr. Y again as a successful researcher with your support.
